When I first received my package, I was very pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the packaging and the earphones themselves; the package was very slick and minimal and the colors of the earphones/case were very complimentary to one another. However, the headphones are a little bulky; there is a big piece that covers the ear hole and another piece that touches the back of the ear. To boost the appearance of the headphones, these pieces should be manufactured smaller if possible. The instructions that were included were very clear about the functions/abilities and the setup of the headphones. Connecting the earphones to my iPhone was so easy, it basically connected itself. I also loved that with a simple touch or swipe volume, next/previous track, etc could be done.
This was my first time owning a pair of open-ear design headphones and I was very blown away by its comfort; they fit onto my ear very nicely and I am able to wear them for hours without them hurting my ears; I have worn them for 6-7 hours while I complete schoolwork. This cannot be said about my Apple AirPod Pros; I can only wear them for about 2 hours before my ears start to feel uncomfortable. However, I feel that the design of the headphones is better suited for people who have normal/bigger ears—I have small ears and I sometimes feel like they might fall out when I’m doing a vigorous activity that includes jumping. Thus, if the part that wrapped around their ear was adjustable or smaller but more flexible/moldable then it may appeal to a wider audience.
One of the best things about these headphones is their battery life. It is absolutely crazy how long I can use them before having to charge them. I on average have used them for 5-6 hours since I received them 3 days ago and I have not charged them once. The battery life is incomparable to anything type of earphone/headphone I have ever owned. My Apple AirPods Pros can only last around 3.5 hours of continuous use before I have to put them back into their case to be charged.
The sound quality of the headphones is so good! I was honestly really surprised because I have never owned an open-ear designed headphone and I was worried that the sound may not be good because it’s not inserted in my ear. However, I am so glad to be proven wrong. I love that they are designed to provide amazing sound while providing safe audio exposure; having audio, especially loud audio, being played inside your ear for long periods of time is very damaging. Thus, the open-ear design is amazing as it helps mediate harmful audio exposure levels. The headphones allow you to be able to hear your surroundings which is vital if you are exercising outdoors or on public transportation. However, I suggest a noise-canceling function be added to the headphones. The reason that I bought my Apple AirPod Pros was that it had this function; noise canceling is so important to me because I find it very difficult to focus whether that be at home or at school with all the noises and distractions around me. Having the ability to block out the sound allows me to get my work done.
They are not technically the most affordable headphones however, I do believe that the product gives you a lot of bang for the buck. Especially, if a noise-canceling function were to be added in the future. Thus, my rating of the Oladance Wearable Stereo Headphones is 4.5/5.
