Dash Cams

I’ve been thinking about getting a dash cam. It seems like every day drivers get dumber and dumber😅. If I worked at the DMV, I’d be failing lots of drivers taking tests for license😂

Anyway, it got me thinking we haven’t talked much about dash cams here. Do you own one? Do you recommend a specific brand/model? Are they worth it? What are your thoughts?

DarkPikaJP interesting question. I dont have a Dash cam but I have seen videos of it. And how people in other countries use it for demonstrate their innocence in a colision

DarkPikaJP I did buy one for a friend of mine years ago. I don’t own one but, like you, I am thinking about buying one some time in the future.

What would you think the features shall be?

Personally I’d like it to be:

as little as possible (I don’t want it to be easily spotted from outside of the car and ideally I don’t want to know it is there from the inside either)
24/7 recording but with a buffer of some sort and other possiblity for configuration
battery powered? (because of 1) I don’t like the power cable to be attached to it. Ideally I don’t want to think about it ever.

seriousjoker definitely needed features you mentioned there. It would be cool if vehicles with displays had a cam built in that one could choose to turn on and off (takes care of the cam being hidden)

Wide lense would definitely be important as well, but it would cool to get 360 degrees when recording.

Yeah, I’d like to have a dash cam as well. It seems like it could be a wise investment. A dash cam could catch interesting moments on camera, as well as determine innocence and guilt pertaining to insurance and collisions like @Menguelez mentioned. As far as features go, 360º functionality like DarkPikaJP mentioned would be cool. What would be essential to me is high definition cameras.

i want a dashcam, because my city is like one of the worst city in Italy do drive in… also I don’t always park my car in a box or garage, and in my street some decided to scratch the door to my car with a screwdriver, so I’d like one to record also when the car is parked
