Humane Ai Pin: New AI based product from ex Apple employee

Finally Humane officially presented their first product, the AiPin. Humane is a company founded by Imran Chaudri, one of the engineers in the team that designed the first iPhones, and his wife.

It is a wearable device that projects a laser ink screen on your hand, and has microphone and camera. It is based on OpenAI AI model (GPT I think?). They sell it as a phone replacement, as it can do calls and messages, take photos, and search the web and ask it every sort of thing via AI.

giuliojpg Thanks for sharing Giulio. I watched yesterday in Twitter the announce, but I am not clear about its operation and usefulness to delete a smartphone, and apart from their price 699€ and a suscription of 24€ per month in my opinion very very expensive.

a cool little thing is a great mini smart assistant in life, but it’s a very very expensive.

Seems pretty cool! But yeah, like @Menguelez said, I don’t know if it can directly replace a smartphone. I feel like smartphones have characteristics and features that are hard to directly replace with other formats such as glasses, watches, pins, etc.

Jado yeah, their point is to move away from the distractions and privacy invasion typical of a smartphone and just keep the useful stuff, but I feel you could do almost everything an Ai Pin does through the smartwatch format. And also I hate the subscription model.

Anyway, they’re still having the courage to try something new…

I’m an early adopter and an entusiast.. personally I’ll try it right now if it was avaiable in italy. I think it is very interesting.. would love to know how much usable is everyday and how heavy is to keep it attached 24/7
