What’s next? May is all about outdoor tech! Share your thoughts on the best outdoor technology and suggest products you’d like to see on this month’s tryout vote list. We want to hear your ideas!

You may have already noticed our “Outdoor Tech” section on the homepage. Our final nomination list comes from three sources:

Popular Picks: Member likes, adjusted to account for launch date (newer products get a fairer chance).
Trending New Releases: Recently launched products gaining traction.
Community Tryout Squad Picks: A special team will come up with their ideas and recommendations for the vote list options.

Based on these results, the Heyup team will confirm the final top 10 products for the tryout vote.

Ivyisme Personally, I’m really into cameras and smartwatches when it comes to outdoor tech! I’d be super excited if one of those showed up at the tryouts. Either way, I’ll definitely be checking out whatever device gets brought.

Ivyisme I love it when the next tryouts start.

Looking at the list you mentioned and imagining a situation where you go camping or hiking, it would be great if some of the action cameras were included in the selection along with a smartwatch. You can’t go camping without a good speaker, and I would optionally add a drone since I don’t really see it as very necessary in any hiking situation. But if it would mainly be one of the action cameras, it would be great because that’s what they’re made for. A smartwatch is essential, and a good speaker to have a good time.

I really like camping and outdoor stuff, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this tryout.

In my case, I’d like to try a power bank or a power station. And I wouldn’t just use them for camping; in my country, power outages are very common, and being able to use and charge devices in those situations would be very useful. I think what happened in Spain is a good example of why having a secondary power source will become increasingly important.

El_Baloos Yeah, smartwatches and speakers are great companions, especially with a large portable power bank. Some people even bring portable projectors (if they have an internal battery or can be charged by a power bank) for entertainment. If you bring a power station, the possibilities for entertainment devices during camping open up! Drones and stabilization are also super popular with young folks these days for capturing photos and videos when they’re out and about. Portable selfie sticks have become a must-have for group outings with girls lol😂
