I own both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the iPhone 16, but what’s surprising is that even my older Galaxy S22 Ultra still feels more capable and innovative than Apple’s latest. The S22 Ultra, despite being two generations old, continues to impress with its vibrant 120Hz AMOLED display, powerful zoom capabilities, and the ever-useful S Pen, which Apple still hasn’t matched with any real productivity tool. It handles multitasking and file management more fluidly, thanks to Android’s open system and Samsung’s One UI, which continues to evolve in meaningful ways.
On the other hand, the iPhone 16, while polished, feels like yet another slightly improved version of its predecessors. The changes are minimal, and Apple continues to play it safe. The UI is still restrictive, multitasking remains basic, and the lack of true customization is frustrating—especially after using a Samsung device. Even simple features like split-screen, quick app switching, or universal file access are either missing or limited. And let’s not even talk about the battery life—it still doesn’t keep up under heavy use, especially when compared to Samsung’s older flagships.
Honestly, it’s shocking how a 2022 phone like the S22 Ultra can still make the iPhone 16 feel like it’s behind the curve. And when I compare it to the S24 Ultra that I’m using now, the iPhone doesn’t even come close. From raw performance to camera flexibility and AI features, the gap just keeps getting wider. Apple really needs to do more than refine the same formula—they need to catch up.
