I’ve been using the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses for over a year now, and honestly, they’ve become one of my favorite pieces of tech — even with their flaws.
They’re super sleek and don’t scream “wearable tech,” which I appreciate. I can throw them on and no one knows I’m taking videos or listening to music unless they’re really paying attention. The build feels solid, and the design actually looks good on my face — rare for smart anything.
Functionality-wise, they’re surprisingly useful. I use the camera way more than I thought I would. Whether I’m capturing quick content, snapping random moments, or just listening to a podcast while walking to the store, they’ve become kind of essential. And the voice assistant? Way handier than I expected.
That said — the battery life is rough. If you’re planning to use these heavily throughout the day, they’re going to die before you’re done. I’ve just accepted that they’re more of a “take them out for a few hours” kind of device, not an all-day wearable. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it is the one thing that constantly bugs me. They can do so much, I just wish they could last longer doing it.
Despite that, I still love them. They’re fun, they’re functional, and they actually look good. And let’s be real — when Meta eventually drops a version with a built-in display? I’m in. No hesitation.
