REDMAGIC 10S PRO REVIEW
REDMAGIC has created a spectacular mobile gaming platform. Ready to change the rules of the game?
The REDMAGIC 10S Pro positions itself as a top-tier gaming smartphone, equipped with cutting-edge hardware and features designed specifically for gamers. In this review, we focus on gaming performance, thermal management, and battery life during gameplay, without forgetting that it is, first and foremost, a smartphone.

Design and Materials
The REDMAGIC 10S Pro has a visually striking appearance. The all-black design features a rear panel that houses four cameras, a well-integrated and glass-protected visible cooling fan, and an LED flash. There are also two backlit logos among stylish engravings. The stunning display, more on that later, dominates almost the entire front.
On the right side, from bottom to top, you’ll find one of the three microphones, a red switch to activate Game Space mode, a round power button, a volume rocker (all in aluminum), and an air exhaust grille. At the far ends, you’ll also find the two touch-sensitive shoulder triggers.
The top side includes the much-appreciated (and often missed) 3.5mm headphone jack, a speaker, a second microphone, and an infrared port. On the bottom, there’s the third microphone, a second speaker, the USB port, and the SIM tray. The left side is almost completely clean, with only the air intake grille for the cooling system.
The smartphone measures approximately 163 × 76 × 8.9 mm. Despite its squared edges, it’s relatively comfortable to hold, though not very thin. It weighs 229 grams, which is quite noticeable, and its aluminum body makes it somewhat slippery. Fortunately, the included case helps with grip thanks to a raised texture on the back. However, it doesn’t offer much protection for the screen or the sides of the device.

Gaming Performance
In terms of raw power, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro delivers exceptional performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 “Elite” Leading Version chipset, which can reach up to 4.47 GHz, and an enhanced Adreno GPU that pushes up to 1220 MHz. In actual gaming scenarios, this means high frame rates and excellent stability even with the most demanding titles.
For example, Genshin Impact, known for being very demanding, runs smoothly at a constant 60 FPS with high graphics settings, even during extended sessions. In my experience, the phone maintained 60 FPS at max settings for over 3 continuous hours, which is an impressive result. Call of Duty: Mobile also makes full use of the hardware, achieving frame rates above 90 FPS with maximum graphics, providing an ultra-smooth experience without slowdowns.
Some games also support frame generation through the “Red Core R3 Pro” coprocessor, which can double the perceived frame rate in compatible titles. Paired with the 144 Hz display and 2500 Hz touch sampling rate, the phone is capable of showing every extra frame when supported by the game, ensuring incredibly smooth animations and instant touch response.
Beyond technical specs, the gaming experience is enriched by dedicated features. The built-in 520 Hz capacitive shoulder triggers (two touch buttons located on the right side) are fully customizable and act like controller buttons. These are especially useful in FPS and battle royale games. For example, you can assign aiming and shooting to the triggers in CoD or PUBG, avoiding uncomfortable screen taps.
The Game Space by RedMagic also offers an in-game toolbox accessible with a side swipe. You can monitor real-time frame rates and temperatures, adjust performance modes, or activate special functions such as a magnified sniper scope that enlarges a portion of the screen to help with aiming.
In summary, every major mobile game currently available runs smoothly on the REDMAGIC 10S Pro. From fast-paced MOBAs like Wild Rift to competitive FPS games and demanding open-world experiences like Genshin Impact, everything runs effortlessly at maximum settings with no lag or stuttering.
Not only games benefit from the powerful hardware, but the Android interface and menus also feel extremely responsive and fluid. This is thanks to the 12 to 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM (up to 24 GB in some variants), and the fast UFS 4.1 Pro storage available in sizes from 256 GB to 1 TB.

Battery Life and Power Management
Beyond raw power, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro boasts an impressive strength: a massive 7050 mAh battery. This is about 15 to 20 percent larger than what many competitors offer, made possible by high-density silicon-carbon battery technology. This extra-large “tank” results in outstanding battery life, even when the phone is pushed to its limits by gaming.
In real-world use, the 10S Pro allows for long gaming sessions without the need to look for a power outlet halfway through. It delivers over 5 hours of continuous gameplay on demanding titles with a single charge. For lighter or 2D games, you can get up to 8 to 10 hours of gameplay before the battery runs out, which is extraordinary. Many standard smartphones would struggle to reach 3 or 4 hours of 3D gaming. According to REDMAGIC, the phone can handle 6.2 hours of uninterrupted Genshin Impact. Reviews from specialized sources also confirm that it’s “virtually impossible to fully drain the device in a single day” with typical use, including a few hours of gaming.
In short, battery anxiety during gaming becomes a thing of the past. The 10S Pro allows for extended gaming marathons, and more often than not, you’ll run out of free time or motivation before the battery dies.
To support this large battery, REDMAGIC’s software offers power-saving features tailored for gaming. For example, the “Bypass Charge” mode feeds power directly from the charger to the phone, skipping the battery entirely during gaming while plugged in. This reduces battery wear from constant charging and discharging and also minimizes heat generation. I can confirm this function works effectively: with bypass mode active, the battery level barely drops during gameplay. It’s the perfect setup for long gaming sessions at a desk, allowing you to play while plugged in without degrading the battery or overheating the phone.
When the battery does eventually run out, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is ready to get back into action quickly. It supports fast charging, and at least in Europe, it comes with an 80W GaN charger in the box. I’ve read that some Asian market versions include 100W or even 120W chargers, and I’d be curious to test their compatibility with European models. In my tests, the 80W charger took the phone from 0 to 100 percent in about 44 minutes. Just 15 minutes are enough to go from 7 to around 50 percent, which is perfect for a quick boost during a break.
While this isn’t the fastest charge in the world (for instance, the Black Shark 5 Pro with 120W can go from 0 to 100 percent in about 15 minutes), it’s still an extremely fast charge that beats the average traditional smartphone. For comparison, the ROG Phone 7, with a 6000 mAh battery and 65W charging, takes about 42 to 45 minutes to fully recharge. Other flagships can take over an hour.
REDMAGIC has also implemented smart thermal controls during charging. The phone adjusts charging speed based on temperature and can activate its cooling system, including the fan, to keep the battery at an optimal temperature during fast charging. This prevents overheating and protects battery health over time.
In practice, you can go from “empty battery” to “ready for another 5 to 6 hours of gaming” in under an hour. This is essential for a gaming-focused device but also comes in handy in emergencies.
In general endurance tests, the 10S Pro ranks among the best even for mixed usage. With moderate daily use including social media, web browsing, streaming, and a bit of gaming, I was able to get two full days of use per charge without major issues. In short, battery life is excellent and ultra-fast charging ensures minimal downtime. This balance makes the REDMAGIC 10S Pro a powerful gaming machine that’s always ready to go, capable of supporting long play sessions and recharging faster than you can recharge yourself.

Video and Audio
There is little to say about the stunning 6.85-inch AMOLED display other than wow. And that is not just because of the adaptive 144 Hz refresh rate. In my opinion, the screen quality is even superior to that of my current Samsung S24 Ultra. With a 1.5K resolution (2688×1216) and peak brightness of 2000 nits, the display is extremely sharp, clear, and bright. The color coverage is very wide, and the panel is vivid and saturated, which makes it perfect for gaming.
The cherry on top is the 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, made possible thanks to the under-display front camera. Unlike earlier versions of this technology, it is now truly invisible. According to my research, the screen is protected by what seems to be Gorilla Glass 7, although I could not find confirmation on the manufacturer’s website. This should make it highly scratch-resistant. A protective film is pre-applied as standard. Watching content on this display is a real pleasure, and for gaming, it adds the perfect finishing touch.
The audio system relies on two 1115 speakers placed in 1.6 cc acoustic chambers. The sound they produce is powerful and well-defined. The phone supports DTS:X Ultra and Snapdragon Sound technologies, delivering an immersive audio experience during gaming sessions.
Completing the package are 0815 Super Linear vibration motors. These are more advanced than the classic ERM motors found in regular smartphones. They provide fast, precise, and controlled haptic feedback, without ever feeling weak or annoying.

Camera System
The four cameras are configured as follows:
50 MP OV50E main sensor, f/1.88
50 MP OV50D ultra-wide sensor, f/2.0
2 MP depth sensor
16 MP under-display front camera, f/2.0
Cameras are rarely a key feature in gaming smartphones, but I found the REDMAGIC 10S Pro to offer surprisingly good photo quality. The main sensor delivers high-quality shots, autofocus is fairly quick, and the resulting photos are more than adequate for social media use. They are sharp and colorful, probably enhanced by the excellent screen.
AI features are available to assist users who are not very experienced with photography, like me. I also appreciated the video capabilities. The phone can record up to 8K at 30 fps, but I achieved the best results at 4K 60 fps. The footage was smooth and consistently in focus.
As expected with under-display cameras, the selfie camera is less effective. The colors are slightly muted, and the image appears grainy, which is typical of this type of lens. AI processing tries to improve the results, but this is the price to pay for such a large and uninterrupted display, just as a gaming phone should have.

Phone and Connectivity Features
Of course, a smartphone still needs to perform its original core function, and in this regard the REDMAGIC 10S Pro lacks nothing. It offers:
Dual SIM with 5G support
Bluetooth 5.4
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be)
GPS L1+L2+L5
NFC
USB 3.2 Gen 2 with video output support
Infrared port (increasingly rare these days)
Call quality is excellent. The earpiece delivers crystal-clear sound, and people on the other end can hear us very well too, thanks to the three built-in microphones. Reception seemed comparable to my Samsung S24 Ultra, though slightly weaker in enclosed areas.
Software
All that monster hardware in the 10S Pro is managed by REDMAGIC OS 10.5.8, based on Android 15. The interface is colorful and pleasant to use, with plenty of options to customize the LED lights located in the fan and on the back of the aluminum chassis. The lighting, while playful, is far less flashy than on most gaming phones I’ve seen, and it can also serve useful purposes like signaling calls or notifications when the phone is on silent mode.
Anyone who has used a REDMAGIC device before will likely be familiar with Game Space. This latest version offers everything a gamer could possibly want. Not only does it allow you to change CPU and GPU power modes to balance or maximize performance, but it also includes an FPS zoom mode, screen recording for capturing gameplay highlights, the ability to lock screen brightness, and to disable notifications while playing.
You can customize the adaptive triggers and external controller settings, free up RAM, optimize performance, and display a small overlay with live stats such as FPS, network speed, and battery status. More advanced users will also appreciate the ability to tweak graphical parameters like anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, texture quality, and more. In short, even the most hardcore gamers will find all the tools and personalization options they could wish for.
As always, Game Space is activated via the red switch located on the right side of the device. It comes with a flashy video effect and sound cue that adds some extra flair.
Naturally, with all this power under the hood, the phone is blazing fast in everyday use as well. I never experienced lag or slowdowns, apps open quickly, and navigating through menus is always smooth.
It’s worth noting that REDMAGIC guarantees 3 years of software support, though it does not specify which Android versions will be included in that cycle. This is somewhat understandable, given how fast technology evolves today, but it is still disappointing when compared to brands like Samsung and Google, which offer 5 to 6 years of updates and at least 2 to 3 Android version upgrades. I don’t expect this phone to go beyond Android 16. REDMAGIC could and should do better on this front.

Price and Availability (Italy)

Final Thoughts
As a long-time PC gamer, I have to say I really appreciated this REDMAGIC 10S Pro. The performance, cooling system, and display are all outstanding. It brings together the best technologies in a well-balanced way, making it not only the gaming phone to beat in 2025 but also an excellent all-around device with market-leading battery life.
Its main shortcomings, in my opinion, are the weight, which becomes noticeable during long gaming sessions, and the outdated software support strategy. Still, its biggest strength lies in its value for money. With a price tag that is almost half that of many other flagships, this device competes with the best of them and, in some areas, even surpasses them.
