Regarding the title I would definitely answer NO to it. The cameras of the pixel 10 pro are just about average.. sure computational photography is a thing and Pixel excel in this context but that does not mean cameras are anyway exceptional :-) .. that’s my opinion at least. In a few weeks I’ll hopefully be able to post my review and by that time I might have changed idea but in the meanwhile…

UnboxingPlus Yeah I just got mine so I’m curious to test the cameras out as well. Pixel cameras were the king for several years, but I’m not sure they’re significantly better than the other flagships these days.

UnboxingPlus It has already been mentioned but really the improvement in the cameras and in general so far compared to the previous generation (the pixel 9) has the same photo quality except for the telephoto lens that integrates AI, apart from that if you even have a Pixel 8, 8 pro, I don’t think it’s worth the change to the 10 pro xl just for the camera segment, perhaps with some future update the processing will improve but for now not

But unfortunately, it’s the current trend of the market. People don’t really care about what the objective truth is so computational photography is gaining terrain fast.

With that said, I love my Find X8 Ultra’s cameras, especially the telephoto and the main 1-inch sensor. I don’t Pixel can win that fight, if you disregard the computational magic.

My opinion can be summed up in one word: “NO.” Pixel is still behind its Chinese competitors, primarily because it doesn’t have a good camera. Its system basically generates images based on what the camera captures. We’d get the same result if we took photos from any other phone’s gallery and told an AI to generate the image again in high quality. That, gentlemen, isn’t photography, and it’s great to be able to use AI, but when it becomes the main focus, it completely loses its appeal.

EniacLoona you know, to be honest, you’re probably right lol. But since most Western reviewers, especially the smaller ones, can’t get many Chinese phones, it’s hard for us in the States to get a good idea of how they perform. I wish it was different!
