Robot cleaners for windows are a new thing for me, but I have get ome from Dreame to test it. I’m taking a look at the Dreame C1 Station window cleaning robot. This device doesn’t just clean windows it can also clean mirrors and tiles. Its generic name, C1 Station, reflects its many uses.
I’ll explain how it works, what’s good about it, and if it’s a good buy for you. I was a bit unsure about it at first, because you really need to have a reason to get a robot like this. Let’s look at all of that and then decide if it’s worth it.
C1 Station vs. The Normal C1
Dreame has two models C1 and C1 Station.
The C1 is cheaper, but it always needs to be plugged in.The C1 Station comes with a special base that stores the robot and its tools. It has a big 7,800 mAh battery, so you can use it without a power outlet.The battery can run for up to 180 minutes and clean around 90 m² of windows.The box also includes a user manual, but the robot is very simple to use.It can connect to Wi-Fi, but that’s optional. It also works with Bluetooth, so you don’t even need the internet.
What’s in the Box?
The C1 Station comes with a base that has a handle, so it’s easy to carry. On top of the base, there are lights that show Wi-Fi and battery status. It also has three Buttons, one to turn it on, one to rewind the pressure hose, and one to change cleaning modes. You can also switch modes with the app on your phone.
The robot has a strong hose with 5,500 Pa suction, which keeps it stuck safely to the glass. It has a handle, a tank for cleaning liquid, and a special part to clean corners. Two belts help it move around, and there’s a small window so you can see how much cleaning liquid is left.
In the box, you get some cleaning liquid, four corner brushes (you’ll need to replace them later), and two cleaning cloths.
For power, the base has a 1.8 m cable. You don’t always need to keep it plugged in just for charging. But if you’re cleaning a lot, you can leave it connected. The base is very safe: it has a suction cup that sticks to the floor with 800 N of force. The robot itself is heavy (6 kg), and it also comes with a safety cable and a clamp, so you can attach it to a table or something solid. This way, it won’t fall.
The regular C1 (without the station) only has the robot’s own suction and a hook for safety. It doesn’t include the extra safety features of the station.
Smart and Simple Cleaning
The robot sprays cleaning fluid from the front and back. It has sensors that help it find the edges of windows, so it won’t go past them and fall. If it reaches the end of the glass, it knows to stop
To get started, you first wet the cleaning cloth with water and squeeze out the extra. Then, you put the cloth on the robot—it can only fit one way. Press and hold the power button for two seconds, and the robot will start talking to you.
You place the robot on the window, and it will start spraying fluid and moving. It can choose the best path (a Z or N shape) on its own. It also has a bumper to feel for things on the glass, like a handle, so it can avoid them.The wheels are special because they help it get right into the corners to clean the whole window.
The robot can handle windows as big as 2.5 meters by 8 meters and as small as 30 cm by 40 cm.
How to Remove and Stay Safe
When the robot is done cleaning, it returns to where it started. It’s easy to take off the glass. Even if the battery dies, it will stay stuck to the glass for up to 30 minutes. To take it off, you just hold the handle and press and hold the power button. The robot will then let go of the glass.
It’s a product that might seem unnecessary at first, but once you try it, you might not want to go back to cleaning windows yourself.
