The guardian butler of EZVIZ
(technical reviews that don’t make your beard grow)

Introduction
Imagine the scene: you come home after a tough day, throw yourself on the couch, and your eye falls on the floor. Crumbs, dog hair, hair that seems to multiply by itself, stains here and there. The broom? No thanks. The mop? Better tomorrow. It’s at that moment that you realize a robot like the EZVIZ RS20 Pro is not a technological whim, but a small everyday ally. This model aims to be an all-rounder, a mix between maid and guard. It vacuums, washes, empties and cleans itself, manages the mops autonomously and, while it’s at it, watches over the house thanks to an integrated camera. An ambitious promise, almost like a smart butler. But the question remains: does it really deliver what it promises?
Main technical specifications
Suction power: 7200 Pa – not among the highest values on the market, but in tests it proved more than sufficient.
Brushes: Central anti-tangle “3-in-1,” with bristles, rubber, and a comb that cuts hair and fur, preventing blockages. Double liftable side brushes.
Washing: Two rotating mops with 10 N pressure. The mops don’t lift, but are automatically detached/reattached at the base.
Carpet management: The robot detaches the mops at the base if it has to vacuum carpets, then reattaches them for washing. Carpets are always avoided when the mops are mounted.
Charging base: Large tanks: 5 L clean water, 4.2 L dirty water, 5 L dust bag. Functions of self-emptying, mop washing and hot drying (up to 60 °C), automatic detergent dosing with proprietary cartridge.
Base dimensions: 529 × 452 × 474 mm – very large, it needs a nice dedicated space.
Robot dimensions: Diameter 365 mm, height 101 mm.
Battery life: 5200 mAh battery, up to 220 minutes in standard suction.
Noise level: About 65 dB in standard mode.
Smart / integrations: FullHD camera with night vision, obtacle recognition and avoidance, two-way audio, integration with the EZVIZ app and the entire surveillance camera ecosystem; compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant.

User experience: how it works in practice
Mapping and navigation
At first startup the robot begins mapping the rooms, combining LiDAR and camera. In an average 70/100 sqm apartment with ⅘ rooms it completes the map in a few minutes. The EZVIZ app is intuitive and allows you to divide rooms, set no-go zones, and choose different modes (vacuuming, washing, or both). Thanks to the camera, it recognizes, photographs, and avoids the most common obstacles in the house, including humans and pets, for which it can make short videos by activating the dedicated function.

Suction
On paper the 7200 Pa don’t impress: many competitors declare higher values. But in practice tests the RS20 Pro collects dust, crumbs, dog hair and hair well. The central brush with integrated comb makes the difference because the hair is vacuumed and at the same time “cut,” preventing tangling, resulting in less maintenance. The robot is slightly wider than average, so not ideal if you have chairs where it has to slalom, but lower than average so it slips under quite a few pieces of furniture. The side brushes are 2 which helps with cleaning, they don’t extend but lift during washing so they don’t get dirty.

Washing
Here the robot plays the card of the two rotating mops with 10 N pressure, I must admit they scrub vigorously and not-too-stubborn stains go away without problems in a couple of passes, the tile joints are adequately cleaned and the smell of the proprietary detergent (automatically dosed by the base) is pleasant even if barely perceptible. The mops don’t lift during use, but the robot automatically detaches them at the base if it only has to vacuum or pass over carpets.

Carpet management
In the presence of carpets, the logic is clear: with the mops attached it avoids them, with the mops detached it vacuums them. It doesn’t reach the power of the top of the range on long-pile carpets, but on normal carpets the result is more than good.

The base: large but complete
The heart of the system is the base. It’s really bulky (more than half a meter wide and tall), but it integrates everything and has larger-than-average tanks and bag: it empties the dust container, refills the water in the robot, washes the mops with hot water and dries them with hot air. The automatic detergent dosing is a neat touch that saves money and patience (for those who don’t have it). A special round of applause goes to EZVIZ for being one of the few brands not to have removed the convenient function buttons from the base.
Note to point out: the mop washing tray is not removable, so manual cleaning is not very convenient. However, EZVIZ includes a little brush and an automatic base washing function that helps keep everything tidy.

Video surveillance and smart home
This is not just a simple “bonus function”: the integrated FullHD camera with night vision expands the possibilities. From the app you can monitor your home live, talk through the two-way audio, receive notifications if movements are detected. But above all, thanks to integration with the EZVIZ ecosystem, you can create automations: if a camera detects an intruder, the robot can start; if it’s the robot that detects movement, it can activate other cameras. A level of surveillance integration rare for a robot vacuum cleaner.

Strengths
Effective and practical suction, even with fur and hair.
Rotating mops with real pressure (10 N) that wash convincingly.
Very complete and capacious base: self-emptying, mop washing, drying and automatic detergent.
Video surveillance and integration with the EZVIZ ecosystem and compatibility with Alexa/Google Assistant.
Limits
Very large base, needs dedicated space.
Washing tray not removable, less convenient cleaning.
Non-liftable mops: carpets must be managed with the detach/reattach system.
No extendable mop or side brush.
Conclusion
The EZVIZ RS20 Pro is more than a robot vacuum cleaner. It is an integrated system that cleans the house autonomously, reduces maintenance, and even adds advanced video surveillance functions. It vacuums well, washes convincingly, manages carpets with an old-style but effective logic, and takes care of the mops by itself. Sure, the base is big, and for the price some features that many other mid-range robots already have are missing. But if you’re looking for a robot that does a bit of everything well and integrates with EZVIZ’s advanced smart home, especially if you already use their cameras, the RS20 Pro is an excellent candidate.
Final comment
This robot is like a multitasking butler, it takes care of a bit of everything. It vacuums, washes, doses the detergent and empties itself, watches your home and communicates with the rest of the smart home. Sure, it takes up half a square meter and the choice of some features is a bit “out of the box,” but it will pay you back the investment and the most precious thing: your free time.
