The robot that doubles everything (even intelligence)
There’s a precise moment when you realize your floor lives a parallel life to yours. You go out, work, come home… and it greets you with that thin layer of dust or some liquids stains you don’t remember ordering.
And if you have pets or children, the situation takes on post-apocalyptic shades.
This is exactly where the Eureka J15 Max Ultra comes into play, the new top-of-the-line model from the former historic American brand now part of the Chinese Midea group.
Double extension, double vision, double self-cleaning: this robot is literally built on the concept of doubling to do better.
Power and coverage: leaves almost nothing behind
The first thing that strikes you is the power: 22,000 Pa of suction, a value that approaches and in many cases exceeds traditional vacuum cleaners.
The robot manages carpets, gaps, and hard floors without hesitation, and thanks to Allroad Technology, it overcomes thresholds up to 4.5 cm, double the market standard.
Then there’s the Advanced Dual Extension System: when it approaches an edge or a table leg, the J15 Max Ultra automatically extends the side brush and the mop to reach even the most difficult corners.
A solution that ensures 100% coverage according to internal tests, I can say it gets close, but it’s more of a marketing number, while maintaining a constant pressure of 7 Nn, not the highest on the market but enough to ensure uniform cleaning.
And the flexibility of its swinging arm prevents damage to furniture, which is no small detail.

Carpets and rugs: smart and adaptive
When it passes over carpets, the J15 Max Ultra automatically lifts the mops by 12 mm to avoid wetting the fibers. In addition, with Carpet-First mode, the robot can clean textile areas dry first, then return for floor washing. A system of sensors recognizes the type of carpet and applies the best strategy: maximum power, lifted mop, or dedicated pass. The transition between surfaces is smooth in my case it neither curled them nor got stuck.

Anti-tangle technology and “pet” mode
Anyone with pets knows how challenging hair can be. Eureka tackles the problem with Dual Detangling Technology: upon returning to the base, the FlexiRazor™ blades vibrate 400 times per minute, freeing the brushes from hair. The side brush DragonClaw (named for its resemblance to a claw), with its “V” design, uses centrifugal force to prevent hair from wrapping. The result? According to Eureka, up to 99.9% tangle reduction and less manual maintenance, I can personally confirm this. Moreover, with Pet Area Deep Cleaning mode, the robot recognizes areas where pets spend the most time and automatically increases suction power and cleaning frequency. And yes, there’s also a cool feature: you can video call your pet directly from the robot, thanks to the built-in camera. All this comes with TÜV Rheinland certification for privacy protection.

The base that cleans itself twice
The J15 Max Ultra’s charging station isn’t just a docking point, it’s a small automatic maintenance lab. A lot happens inside:
The mop is washed with 80°C water, removing stains and grease.
Then it’s dried with 55°C air to prevent bad odors.
The water tank refills automatically, dirty water is drained, and dust ends up in a 3-liter bag, enough for 75 days of use without emptying.
In addition, the base washes and dries its own tray, even vacuuming solid residues separated after drying, a feature competitors still don’t offer.
With a 6400 mAh battery, the robot can cover large surfaces in a single session, and where it doesn’t reach, it recharges and resumes from where it left off.

IntelliView™ AI 2.0: when vision becomes intelligence
The heart of the J15 Max Ultra is the new IntelliView™ AI 2.0 technology, a vision system combining an FHD RGB camera and an infrared sensor. This double perspective allows the robot to “see” both the real appearance of the environment and the structure and depth of objects, even in the dark or poor lighting conditions. Unlike traditional robots, which rely only on optical vision (similar to the human eye), IntelliView can also recognize transparent liquids such as water, Sprite, or milk on light surfaces. When it detects a liquid stain, the robot lifts the brush, rotates, and first uses the mop to absorb it, preventing liquid from spreading, dirtying, or clogging the dust tank. In addition, the AI recognizes over 200 types of objects and adapts behavior in real time, for example, slowing down the side brushes to avoid scattering kibble or litter granules. It’s a system that combines perception and decision-making, and it shows: the robot always seems to know what’s in front of it and how to react.
App and voice control
The Eureka Home app offers a clear and complete interface:3D map, multi-floor management, no-go zones, washing settings, self-cleaning frequency control, and much more.Naturally, the robot is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, so a simple voice command starts the cleaning. There are also practical modes such as Do Not Disturb, Child Lock, and convenient monitoring of component and consumable status. I’ll add that it’s one of the best-translated apps I’ve seen, at least in Italian.

Conclusions
The Eureka J15 Max Ultra is as powerful as a traditional vacuum cleaner, as precise as a next-generation robot, and above all completely autonomous: from liquid handling to mop washing, all the way to base cleaning. The IntelliView™ AI 2.0 technology is the real leap forward: it combines optical and infrared sensors to give the robot a three-dimensional, intelligent perception of the environment, seeing even what many other robots can’t. It’s a robot that sets a new standard in the “sensor” category, and for those with pets or children who often face real messes, it’s one of the best robots at recognizing and cleaning them. It doesn’t avoid problems, it tackles them the right way, even when it comes to liquids.
With a list price of €1,199, it’s on the pricey side compared to competitors, but if you can grab it for under €900, it becomes a solid value for its features.
Clean, powerful, and almost completely autonomous, it represents the company’s most mature interpretation yet.
