Hey everyone
I’ve been using the Logitech MX Mechanical Clicky version for about a month now, and I have to say, I absolutely love it. The joy it brings while typing, the feel of the keys, the customizable backlighting, it’s just an amazing experience.
I know there are other keyboards out there, but I’ve always been a Logitech fan. That said, I’m always open to trying new keyboards but for now, the MX Mechanical Clicky has me hooked.
A few highlights:
Backlighting: There are over 5 modes you can switch on the fly. I’m currently using a mode where the light blinks every time I type.
Battery life: Honestly, it’s incredible. With the backlight on, it lasts around 10 days. With it off, a whopping 90 days! After a month of use with my current settings, the battery is still at 95%. Truly impressive.
Variants: There are three main versions to consider:
MX Mechanical – full size keyboard with keypad
MX Mechanical Mini – compact, no keypad
MX Mechanical Mini for Mac – compact, Mac-only
Switch options for MX Mechanical & MX Mechanical Mini:
Tactile Quiet
Clicky (my personal favourite!)
Linear
Compatibility is simple:
MX Mechanical & MX Mechanical Mini – works with Mac & Windows, keys show both Mac & Win labels
MX Mechanical Mini for Mac – Mac only, keys show Mac labels only
The major physical difference? The MX Mechanical has a numeric keypad on the right, while the Mini versions don’t. So basically, if you want flexibility across Mac and Windows, the first two options are great. If you’re strictly on Mac, the Mini for Mac is perfect.
If you’re thinking of buying one, I promise you won’t go wrong. It’s a solid, everyday keyboard that’s a joy to type on.
So, the question is:
Which one would you be more drawn to?
MX Mechanical
MX Mechanical Mini
MX Mechanical Mini for Mac
