Red Magic 11 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 — Game Changer or Just Hype?

The RedMagic 11 Pro has some of the wildest features we’ve seen on a gaming phone this year — especially the new liquid-cooling system combined with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

It uses a sealed liquid cooling loop + a micro-pump + vapor chamber, plus the built-in fan. RedMagic claims this improves heat dissipation by nearly 50%. On top of that, it has a 144Hz AMOLED display, up to 24GB RAM, and extremely fast charging.

I’m curious what you all think:

Do you believe the liquid cooling system will really give a big performance advantage?
Is this level of cooling actually practical for everyday use, or is it more for marketing?
What do you think about the overall feature set compared to other gaming phones like the ROG Phone?
And do you prefer extreme performance or better cameras on gaming phones?

ArloLuna It is interesting to read all of this. I don’t have the RedMagic 11 Pro myself, but the cooling system definitely has caught my attention, especially the whole liquid loop plus the micro pump setup. The visuals look stunning as well.

I’m curious how much of a difference it makes in the real world when people start testing it properly. It does feels like RedMagic is really pushing the performance side as far as they can. For me, even though I don’t use gaming phones, I still like seeing a good balance between power and camera quality.

I’m looking forward to hearing what the selected tester thinks once they’ve actually tried it. 😊
