Ecovacs introduces the concepts of next-generation suction and charging into its X11.

The ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone is not simply a new robot vacuum and floor washer: it is the result of a deep rethink of the concept of autonomous cleaning, especially in terms of power, washing performance, and energy management. It is one of the very few robots truly suitable for large houses and apartments.

PowerBoost + GaN: the real generational leap
One of the elements that truly sets the DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone apart from most robot vacuums on the market is the way it manages energy, charging, and operational continuity. It’s not just about having a large battery, but about an intelligent energy ecosystem built around PowerBoost technology and the use of GaN (Gallium Nitride) components in the OMNI station.
PowerBoost: not just fast charging
Traditionally, robot vacuums work according to a rigid pattern: cleaning → battery drained → return → long recharge → restart
With PowerBoost, ECOVACS completely changes the paradigm.
How PowerBoost works
PowerBoost is a dynamic and predictive system, not a simple “fast charge.” It integrates: Self-optimization algorithms Ultra-fast charging during operational pauses Intelligent management of remaining power
During routine operations such as:
roller washing and rinsing,
dust emptying,
short stops at the base,
the robot recovers about 6% of battery in just 3 minutes.
This means the DEEBOT never really drops to zero, but always maintains enough energy to keep working.
Why it’s different from “classic” charging
From analysis, a key concept emerges: PowerBoost works based on the objective, not the battery.
The algorithm:
evaluates the size of the environment,
analyzes the remaining distance to be cleaned,
modulates suction, water flow, and speed,
so as to complete entire areas without long, unnecessary interruptions.
Ecovacs states that the X11 can reach up to 1,000 m² per cycle. I have no way to verify this data exactly, but I can say that it vacuums and then washes, at medium/high settings, the entire first floor of my house of about 130 m² without a long charging stop, and to date it is the only robot I have tested capable of doing this.
How GaN technology comes into play
GaN technology is what makes all this possible without damaging the battery. Compared to traditional silicon. At the heart of PowerBoost is a precise technological choice: the adoption of Gallium Nitride components.
What GaN technology is (briefly)
GaN is a next-generation semiconductor, increasingly used in:
premium chargers,
electric automotive,
data centers,
aerospace technologies.
Compared to traditional silicon, it offers:
lower energy losses,
higher conversion efficiency,
less heat,
more compact dimensions at equal power.
Why GaN is fundamental for the X11 OmniCyclone
In the context of the DEEBOT X11, GaN allows the station:
to deliver high power in very short times,
without overheating,
without stressing the battery over the long term.
This is a crucial point, as fast charging does not degrade the battery, because:
the current is more stable,
heat is drastically reduced,
the system always operates within optimal thresholds.
In the context of the X11, this means fast but safe charging, with less thermal stress and greater battery longevity. Several technical reviewers highlight how the X11’s fast charging does not lead to evident performance degradation over time.
In short: PowerBoost manages the energy, GaN makes it sustainable.

ECOVACS BLAST technology: why the X11’s suction is different
BLAST technology is not simply “more suction power.” It is a complete engineering redesign of the suction system, designed to solve three historic limitations of robot vacuums: loss of power under load, poor effectiveness on carpets and pet hair, instability of performance over time.
With BLAST, ECOVACS does not forcibly increase the declared Pa, but rethinks the entire air–motor–brush–flow chain.
What BLAST technology is
BLAST is made up of four key elements working in synergy: 100 W high-torque motor, oversized fans (+45%), low-resistance internal structure, intelligent airflow management.
The result is a system capable of generating as much as 18 liters/second of real airflow, and it is precisely the airflow, even more than the Pa, that makes the difference in everyday cleaning, and all of this is also incredibly quiet. The ZeroTangle technology featured on both the main and side brushes prevents hair and pet hair from becoming tangled.
It’s a pity that the extendable side brush is missing, a limitation that is especially noticeable in 90° corners; it still lifts during washing and when liquids are detected to avoid getting wet. Hopefully, on the next flagship model they will also integrate the extension function.

Washing: one of the best available today
The OZMO ROLLER 2.0 system is one of the most praised elements in reviews. With a pressure of 3,800 Pa, 200 rotations per minute, and a roller that is always kept clean in real time, but while in other systems water and detergent are usually added first and then the roller is “scraped” to remove dirty and excess water, in the system designed by Ecovacs the roller is first scraped to remove dirty water and then soaked with water and detergent, leaving the roller cleaner for better cleaning and less risk of streaks. There is also now a double detergent dispenser: the classic multi-surface detergent and an intensive detergent for dirtier areas and stubborn stains, managed and mixed autonomously by the base depending on the zones. In the kitchen, bathroom, and dining room, where liquid stains are often present, the result is “visibly superior” compared to traditional mops, as dirt is removed in real time and not only when the robot returns to the base for washing. The shorter roller compared to competitors may initially seem like a handicap, but in reality it makes it more adaptable to irregular surfaces and improves pressure on the floor, furthermore, the roller is extended decisively for edge cleaning, remaining for most of the time firmly in contact with the baseboards and furniture.
The roller is then regularly washed in the base using an immersion soaking system with variable temperatures depending on the type of dirt, up to 75 °C, and dried with hot air.
A mention also goes to the material: high-quality mixed microfibers with antibacterial treatment, AI 2.0 also recognizes stains and activates Deep Re-mop, insisting where needed.

OmniCyclone: bagless station, finally mature
The OmniCyclone station with PureCyclone 2.0 technology completely eliminates the use of bags. This choice is appreciated for: reduced long-term costs, there are no bags or filters to replace, constant suction (estimated loss around 1%), simple maintenance, container, cyclone, and filters are fully washable.
OmniCyclone is undoubtedly one of the best bagless bases currently available.

Navigation and artificial intelligence
AIVI 3D 3.0 works in synergy with TruEdge 3.0 Extreme, which extends the roller along edges and corners, allowing: precise edge cleaning, recognition of objects, people, and animals, real-time adaptation to changes in the environment.
Agent Hosting represents a further step forward: it doesn’t just react, but anticipates needs, building dynamic cleaning plans based on habits and home layout. A small personal note is that the AI-based system is often overly meticulous and takes time if cleaning is done sporadically, so it’s best to let it work as much as possible or alternatively disable it to customize settings according to needs.

ECOVACS App: simple, smart, and functional
The ECOVACS app is intuitive from the very first launch: immediately after configuring the X11 OmniCyclone robot, a precise 3D map of the house is generated, allowing you to view and edit rooms, no-go zones, or areas to clean more often.
Main features:
Interactive 3D map: you can divide rooms, create virtual walls, and select areas to clean or ignore.
Advanced scheduling: set automatic cleaning cycles for specific days and times.
Cleaning mode control: choose between vacuuming, washing, water intensity, and stain management (Deep Re-mop).
Real-time monitoring: see where the robot is cleaning, how much time is left in the cycle, battery status, and OmniCyclone station status.
History and reports: receive cleaning statistics and maintenance reminders (roller, brushes, filters).
Even on the X11, real-time visualization of obstacles on the map is missing, without the possibility to view them and indicate to the algorithm whether detection is more or less accurate or to ignore the obstacle for future cleanings. This aspect is still managed autonomously by the robot. However, points where stains or large amounts of solid dirt are detected are reported, indicating that in those areas it will focus more on suction or washing. Whether the lack of reported obstacles is a shortcoming or a simplification is up to the user to decide.
YIKO voice assistant: the AI that thinks about cleaning
The YIKO voice assistant is not just an assistant to give voice commands to: it is a proactive AI model that analyzes the environment and habits to optimize cleaning cycles.
What YIKO does
Recognizes floors and critical areas (e.g., areas with pets) thanks to deep learning.
Automatically adapts suction, water, and route based on detected conditions.
Anticipates cleaning needs by analyzing daily habits and the layout of the home.
Provides clear, easy-to-understand voice responses during interaction with the robot.
Main advantages
More natural interaction compared to static commands
Proactive decisions (e.g., intensifying cleaning where needed)
Smooth integration with the ECOVACS app
Aspects to consider
The assistant and Agent Hosting functions may be less effective or take a long time in very dynamic or cluttered environments, where reference data changes often.
The voice experience may vary depending on language and software updates.

Obstacle overcoming: TruePass with 4-wheel drive
The new TruePass system allows it to overcome single thresholds up to 2.4 cm, double thresholds up to 4 cm.
Being a mechanical system, it is immediate and reliable, avoiding the repeated attempts typical of software-only solutions.

Conclusion
By integrating performance, advanced energy management, and artificial intelligence, the ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone positions itself as one of the most complete and mature robots of 2025 and the company’s flagship. The PowerBoost + GaN combination solves one of the historic limits of robots: real autonomy on large surfaces, while efficient roller washing and dual detergent bring it closer than ever to manual cleaning.
For completeness, I note that the X11 is also available in a version with disposable antibacterial dust bags, for people who are allergic to dust.

It is not designed for those looking to save money, given its list price of €1,299, nor for those seeking invisible solutions, but for those who want maximum performance and a technological platform ready for the future. If they combine this autonomy and these technologies with an autonomous water refilling system, we will have the ultimate solution for large environments.
