HeyupTeam I would really like to try out the ROG Ally X. I have the original ROG Ally and I really like it the only problem it lacks on the battery side when using it away from home. I would love to see if there was an upgrade on not only the battery life with the ROG Ally X but the graphics also. Would I have to use minimal settings or can I bump it up? That is the gamer question.

@HeyupTeam Saludos banda, vamos todos a aplicar para los último Tryouts del año. La mejor de la suerte para todos. Espero poder ser el tester del Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. El cual para mi consideración, es sin duda alguna una estrategia arriesgada para posicionar la Marca de Nothing en la gama de entrada, bajo una experiencia accesible, capaz de competir con su filial CMF by Nothing y otros teléfonos de gama de entrada. Tomando en cuanto, su precio que ronda los 250 Euros, una versión minimalista llamada Glyph Light, que se complementa con un procesador MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro, y una pantalla AMOLED de 120Hz fluida con una batería de 5000mAh. Desde mi perspectiva, es un teléfono de gama de entrada, enfocado en brindar la experiencia Nothing, sin perder la identidad característica que mantiene la empresa con diseños únicos y llamativos.

Would love to test the new ROG Xbox ally! I have the original rog ally because it is such a version peice of tech so i would love to test the difference between the internal tech and how it handles different processes and how much of a difference the new tech makes with gaming. I’d also love to compare the 2 since we use the OG as a hybrid laptop at work sometimes (business owners who love gaming otg). The only issue I’ve ever had with the OG was the SSD slot (recall).

I’ve been keeping an eye on the ROG Xbox Ally X, and honestly, this might be the first handheld in a while that I’m genuinely excited to get my hands on. I love testing new gaming hardware, especially when it feels like the company actually listened to feedback from the first model.

The upgraded specs alone make it hard not to be curious. The bump to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, and that bigger 80Wh battery are exactly the kind of quality‑of‑life improvements handhelds usually skip. Pair that with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU and the 1080p 120Hz display, and it sounds like something that could actually keep up with my backlog without melting in my hands.

I’m really hoping the thermals and ergonomics feel as good in real use as they look on paper. If ASUS really tightened up the build and heat management this time, this could be a seriously fun device to test and review. I’m ready to put it through its paces the moment it drops.

I seldomly apply for Tech Tryouts but the ROG Xbox Ally X piqued my interested, especially considering I’ve been testing an alternative to it in the last few days (I’ll post a thread about it shortly).

PC Gaming Handhelds are an exciting new product category that is filled with hidden gems, and I’m sure the new Ally X is no exception. If I’m lucky enough to get picked, first thing I’ll do is installing Bazzite OS after a NVMe swap, the next thing is installing Counter Strike 2 to test it for @nikkierodrigues :D

Love the community driven selection, both picks make a lot of sense for closing out 2025.

The ROG Ally X is especially interesting as a test device because real value isn’t just raw power, but how well performance, thermals, battery life, and ergonomics hold up over extended sessions. Handheld gaming succeeds or fails on sustained experience, not specs alone.

The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is equally compelling from a different angle. Minimalist design only works when the fundamentals are nailed; display, software smoothness, battery consistency, and long term usability. That balance between form and everyday function is exactly where meaningful feedback matters.

If selected, I’d focus on the real world usage, not just first impressions; but what works, what doesn’t, and where expectations meet reality for everyday users.
