I just came across this phone handset thing and I’m having a total crisis of “I don’t need this, but I need this.”

It’s basically an old-school telephone handset but with a USB-C tail. It’s like the 90s and 2026 had a baby.
It’s actually got this really nice, heavy weight to it because of the zinc alloy—it feels solid and premium, not like some cheap plastic toy. It’s a total lifesaver for long calls because you don’t get that ‘cooked ear’ feeling from your phone heating up, and since there’s no charging or Bluetooth to mess with, you just plug it in and instantly feel like a 1940s movie boss.
But let’s be honest, though… it’s completely impractical. You can’t exactly tuck this into your pocket. If I pulled this out on the subway, I think people would assume I’d lost my mind.
It’s the definition of “Cool Desk Accessory,” but as a mobile accessory? Probably not. It’s a total design paradox—I love looking at it, but I’d probably never leave the house with it.
