Is the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra the best mid-range phone right now?
Tecno has been stepping up lately, and the Camon 50 Ultra really caught my attention.
It comes with a 144Hz AMOLED display, a powerful chipset, and a big 6,500mAh battery, which already makes it feel like a flagship-level device at a mid-range price.
What stands out most to me is the camera system. It has a 50MP main sensor and even a periscope zoom lens, which is something you don’t usually see in this price range.
Tecno is also pushing a lot of AI features — like AI photography, smart assistants, and editing tools — which makes it feel more modern compared to older Tecno phones.
What I like:
Smooth 144Hz display
Big battery (good for heavy users)
Strong camera setup with zoom
AI features built into the system
What I’m not sure about:
Charging speed is not the fastest
Real-life performance vs competitors
My question Is:
Do you think Tecno is finally competing with brands like Samsung and Xiaomi in the mid-range space?
And would you actually choose this over something like a Galaxy A-series phone?
