REDMAGIC 11 Air Review
The REDMAGIC 11 Air is an amazing piece of technology I had the opportunity to put to the test in real life scenarios, taking pictures or video to gaming. Yes, gaming on your phone is a thing now a days especially when you have devices just like this one. It is packed with so much tech that you wouldn’t believe your eyes. If you ever wanted a phone that was sleek, powerful enough to handle gaming then the REDMAGIC 11 Air is what you need. Despite it lacking in the camera department to a certain extent. It is running Android 16 which is the latest version. Let’s begin dissecting this mobile gaming beast.

BASICS
The design of this device is sleek well thought out and lightweight coming in at 207 grams. The phone has an aluminum alloy frame, and the screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass GG7i for the front and the back cover is a GG5. The back of the phone has a very nice design with etching on the aluminum at least that’s what it looks like to me. It measures 163.82mm x 76.54mm x 7.85mm making this a slim phone. It comes in 3 different colors Black Phantom, White Prism and Trace which is the one I tested. As for the RAM and internal memory there are two different combinations 12GB (RAM) + 216GB (STORAGE) or 16GB (RAM) + 512GB (STORAGE). When it comes down to water or dust resistant this device is IP54. Just don’t go trying to submerge it underwater it will end up getting damaged.

DISPLAY
The REDMAGIC 11 Air features a 6.85-inch OLED display which is a Corning Gorilla Glass that operates at up to 144Hz you will see no ghosting or trailing images when using it either for general use or gaming. You can get a touch sampling rate of up to 2,500Hz the average rate is 960Hz. The resolution is 2688 × 1216 pixels you get a nice piece of screen restate to enjoy a tv show or play some video games. The aspect ratio is 20:9 and the max brightness is 1800 nits so you will be sure to see that screen in broad daylight.

COOLING SYSTEM
This is where the REDMAGIC 11 Air really shows off its gaming capabilities. It has the REDMAGIC ICE Cooling System that has an extra-thick vapor chamber which allows for faster cooling of your device when you are playing those graphic intense games such as Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG or Rainbow Six Mobile. It has a built-in fan that you can control via the Game fan app where you choose either eco mode and Turbo more which will accelerate the fan speed up 24,000 RPM. Not only can you hear the fan speed up and working you can feel the air the fan is pushing out of the phone.
HARDWARE
The Snapdragon 8 Elite boasts an Oryon Core, and it operates up to 4.32Ghz. I feel this is the reason why the REGMAGIC Ice cooling system was integrated into it because with great power you need amazing cooling. The GPU that will also allow your mobile games to run smoothly is an Adreno 830 GPU and the core speed on that is up to 1.1GHz with 12MB of L2 cache and LPDDR5x RAM. I never experienced any lag when playing any game on it that truly impressed me.
SPECIALIZED FUNCTIONS
I have yet to see a phone that features shoulder touch buttons. If you have itchy trigger fingers these will work to your favor operating at 520Hz. Although I don’t use the touch screen control, I know that for many mobile gamers this is a great feature. There is also a dedicated Magic Key which by default launches GameSpace but you can assign it to do other functions like launch other apps or mute the phone. On top of that it has fully customizable RGB lighting.
CAMERA
It has a 50MP camera on the back with 8MB wide angle lens the visibility is 118° the aperture is an F1.89 and F2.2. unfortunately, it lacks on the zoom capabilities. It is missing a telescopic camera. as you can see the image below the close-up shots are not an issue. They look amazing and clear, and the colors are quite vivid, but when it comes down to taking a picture of an object that’s far away it lacks in that department, you will see it on an image down below. The picture appears to be quite blurry.

FINGERPRINT
Another amazing feature that this phone has is the fingerprint reader which is built right into the screen ¾ of the way down you will see an image of a fingerprint. This is where you place your finger to unlock it. Every time I use it, I have not had any issues on unlocking my phone via this method.
CHARGING
It does indeed have a long-lasting battery and I’m very surprised at how long you’re capable of leaving the phone on standby. It has a 7000 mAh battery and you’re able to use a quick charger up to 80W. A full charge can last more than 80 hours, in power save mode you can get 124 hours and in Ultra Power Saver 158 hours. That is a shock to me where my current phone’s battery depletes so fast that I have to charge it at least twice a day.
CONNECTIVITY
Connect to a mobile carrier via the dual nano-SIM cards but it doesn’t support eSIM, it would be nice to have eSIM support. The network bands it supports is 5G,4G, 3G and 2G. Enjoy connecting to the internet from home with the Tri-Band Connection (2GHz/ 5Ghz/ 6Ghz) and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax. Connect your Bluetooth capable device via the Bluetooth 5.4.
AUDIO, VIDEO AND IMAGES
Listen to your music on the stereo speakers which have a metal box design. The playback extensions it’s compatible with are WAV, AAC, MP3, AMR, FLAC, OGG and APE. When you record audio, the output will be MP3.
The maximum video format is 8K get ready for some crispy videos. It sure is going to be fun creating some content at this quality. Although the main focus is gaming and there are limitations to the video recording functionality. It can playback 3GP, ASF, AVI, FLV, M2TS, MKV, MOV, MP4, MPG, MTSTS, WEBM, WMV, MPEG and M4V. The ultra-wide video is capped at 1080P.
Your able to take amazing pictures using the 50MP lens. During the Dy time you can take amazing pictures but at night it struggles. You can use the digital zoom up to 10x but at that point the images start to appear grainy. The nighttime and low light situation pictures are not that great.

OVERALL
I feel that the REDMAGIC 11 Air is an amazing phone when it comes down to gaming on it. The Gamespace is an amazing piece of software that serves as a centralized hub for all your mobile gaming needs within the phone. I had a great time gaming with the phone and couldn’t believe how long the battery would last on standby mode. I wish I could have tested the cellular data this is an area I didn’t get a chance to test due to no service. I continue to enjoy gaming on the REDMAGIC 11 AIR I might end cell phone service on it to try out the mobile data.
