I have been trying to use this flashlight for random tasks around the house, and trying to find excuses to use it daily, so that I could give a nice and thoughtful review. It is very bright and the presentation of the packaging was very well thought out. I will go over it in more detail shortly.
Unboxing & Packaging

The packaging feels premium and it’s clear that Olight had put some effort into its presentation. Everything was organized very cleanly and it feels like you are opening a high tech product and not a flashlight. I have only ever had flashlights from hardware stores so even opening it feels like a world of difference.
The Baton 4 Pro feels very solid in hand with a premium look and nice knurling along the handle. The mounting system in the packaging was nice too which allows you to mount the flashlight nicely on a wall or workspace which make it very practical. It comes with the wireless magnetic charger, similar to an apple watch charger, but no USB C charging cable was included in the box. There is an LED on the magnetic charger, which doesn’t add any functionality for me, but it looks cool at least?

Features and Performance**

The back end is magnetic, which for some reason my 16 month old loves when I attach it to the fridge. He claps every time I do that LOL. The flashlight has multiple modes for brightness which include, moonlight, medium, high, turbo, and strobe.
I mostly used moonlight or high. There is a clip along the side which makes it easy to clip onto a hat to work like a headlamp, which I could see as being useful for hands free use, such as working on a car. I had it attached to my hat while putting and moving stuff away downstairs from my house since the hot water boiler room doesn’t have a light. It was pretty useful for that. We recently just started having an ant problem this week too so I was using it to look along all our flooring which was helpful during the nightmare we were experiencing. The strobe light was powerful but I don’t see myself using it. The turbo and high modes are quite bright and you can feel a bit of heat coming from the light but nothing too hot that you can’t manage. It’s a pretty impressive output given such a small and compact flashlight and can easily light up large rooms and walking paths. I can see the flashlight as a nice EDC accessory if you walk dogs at night. As for the battery life, after using it casually for two days I didn’t need to recharge it but I proactively did.
It houses an 18650 battery so you can easily replace if needed
Critiques
At first, I found it didn’t respond to my button presses as I intended, such as going between moonlight mode and other modes, and knowing the button press differences between the back button and the button on the side. However, after using it for a few days I didn’t have any issue with it anymore. It just took a little getting used to.
Final Thoughts
Overall, it’s quite a refined EDC flashlight experience. I never considered having an EDC flashlight before but its so handy and I am so thankful for being chosen for this tryout!
