Think about it, it’s easy to find out that, if we make more robot with alienated shapes, we need to rebuild our infrastructure and product designs to adapt their needs of working. However, if we have humanoids, they can walk like human, open bottles, or use other tools just like we do. So we don’t have to rebuild the stairs or roads or something else just for the sake of these robotic citizens.
Although it is anti-intuitive, but when talking about societal cost, humanoid robot maybe good for us.
