Hi everyone!
I’m going to give y’all a brief review of my current phone. Throughout the review, it’ll get compared to the previous budget friendly device that I owned.
The varient being reviewed is Cloud Red, 128gb/6gb. This device, Fan Edition, is the more budge friendly option compared to the regular S20
-Charging, the S20FE has 25w charging capability, which compared to some competition is not the best, takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to charge up. I find myself having to charge it daily. My previous phone had 30w and would charge in about 45 minutes, which seems more my speed. 15w wireless charging is available, but again, even slower charge time. I personally only use wireless charging in my vehicle.
-Refresh Rate, the S20FE has a refresh rate of 120hz, previous phone had 90hz, both run smoothly. You probably will not notice much of a difference between 90 and 120, however you’d notice a larger difference if going from 60 to 120.
-Size/Screen, at 6.5 screen size, it’s on par with the competition. However, larger phones may not be everyone’s taste.
-Display quality, again, at 2400 × 1080, it stacks up nicely against the competition. Under display fingerprint reader usually works like a charm and is super handy, especially if you forget your passwords, but it does encounter issues from time to time such as forgetting a print that isn’t used for a bit. The display itself does have some flaws behind the scenes, such as poor adaptive brightness response.
-HDR Camera/Picture Quality, At Rear Triple 12mp Wide, 12mp Ultrawide and 8mp Telephoto, it’s definitely not as great as some of the competition. It’ll work okay if you’re not into a lot of picture/video taking. At front there is 32mp, punch hole, which is more on par with the other budget friendly selfie cameras but still not as good as some. While I won’t go into the specs, my previous device had a better overall camera/picture quality.
-Storage/Ram, at 128/6, it’s what you’d expect for the price. Ram is a bit less than my previous device but hasn’t bothered me overall or been as noticable. Storage has been plenty for me while keeping things backed up. SD slot is available for those that absolutely need external storage.
-Cpu/Chip, despite having a decent octa-core inside(1×2.84 GHz Cortex-A77 & 3×2.42 GHz Cortex-A77 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A55) and Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 5G mixed with Samsung UI, it does run a bit slow at times compared to my previous device.
-Gaming, the device is good for casual gaming like puzzle and simulator, which I do. The casual gaming doesn’t usually result in overheating, freezing or any other issues you would encounter with a heavier game on the device.
-Speaker/Sound quality, no complaints here. It’s on par with the rest of the budget friendly devices.
-Backing, yes it’s plastic but that’s ok, helps makes it budget friendly and still looks aesthetically pleasing

Overall this device may not be the greatest choice, unless keeping usage to a minimum, nothing extra. There are better budget friendly devices out there. Personally for me the biggest drawbacks are the camera, charging and poor adaptive brightness. I’m not a big fan of this fan edition. My advice, if you’re going to go with Samsung, spend the little extra and get the regular version.
