In 2021 Nothing launched the ear 1 and they already showed a clear design aesthetic that has been maintained in the phone 1. Months before the launch, the CEO and co-founder of nothing, Carl Pei (exOnePlus) announced that they were developing a mobile that would revolutionize the market, resulting in a lot of hype for this first smartphone. Nothing introduced Phone 1 on July 12.

UNBOXING
I left you the video unboxing
The minimalism of the box, which has a flap that we remove to see its content, has caught my attention. It is obvious at first glance that it does not come with a charger, although it is a trend that we are seeing lately in other manufacturers.
In the box (1) we have:

DESIGN
I was surprised by the design with the aluminum chassis surrounding the terminal with a straight finish and rounded corners, it reminds us of the iPhone.
On the sides we find the volume and power buttons and on the bottom edge we can see the slot for the sim card, the usb-c port and a stereo speaker.
On the back, we find a transparent design, with a gorilla glass 5 glass panel that reveals some components and makes it very attractive. To this we add the “Glyph interface” which is a set of LED lights that perform the functions of notifications, flash, charge indicator and stand out on the wireless charging coil, the cameras, and the USB port.
The lights can be customized and they will turn on depending on whether it is a call, message, notification, etc.

On the front we find an oled panel with a brightness and color calibration very well achieved.
The screen is completely flat 6.55 "and Full HD + resolution with the integrated selfie camera in the upper left corner. The fingerprint reader is hidden under the screen, which is fast and does its job.
FIRST STEPS
We turn on the Nothing phone 1 for the first time and the welcome screen appears and then it asks us to select language.
After that, it tells us to connect to a mobile network and prepare the phone to copy applications and data from your previous mobile to it.
We activate the fingerprint sensor following the steps and our fingerprint is added and then the launcher appears (NothingOS)
SOFTWARE
The Nothing phone 1 comes with Android 12 completely clean and without bloatware, thus ensuring a better performance. I love that it is like this, pure android, the closest thing to a google pixel, without annoying applications.
Besides, Nothing has ensured 3 years of system updates and 4 security patches every 2 months.
By the way, as soon as I turned on the phone, I received a system update.
HARDWARE
The Nothing Phone 1 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ CPU based on 64-bit ARM architecture under a 6nn TSMC process. We can see the Antutu data as it exceeds 500,000 points, performing well in content and high definition.
So with the 120Hz screen we can play any game, use social networks or surf the Internet without problems.
The storage configuration starts from 8/128Gb to 12/256Gb. My model is the 8Gb/256Gb. The memory can’t be expanded, although with 256Gb I think I’ll have enough.
And in the connectivity section, we get 5G for the 2 sims, wi-fi 6 dualband + bluethoot 5.2 le and NFC to pay with the mobile, GPS glonass, Beidu, Qzss and Galileo.
SOUND
In this aspect, the Nothing Phone 1 is not far behind. Its 2 stereo speakers sound very well, offering a balance of power without distortion. Listening to music, playing your favourite game, watching a video is an enjoyment on this mobile.
Also, when we record an audio, we have 3 microphones located on the front and sides offering a surrounding effect.
BATTERY
This is perhaps the phone’s weak spot, with a 4500 mAh battery that with a normal use can last a day and some hours. I think they could have made it larger. However, it comes with other options that other phones don’t come with, such as 15W wireless charging and 3W reversible. Cable charging reaches 33W, and remember that it doesn’t come with a charger, you have to use one that you already have.

CAMERAS
The Nothing Phone 1 has 2 rear sensors where the main one is a 50Mpx Sony IMX766, which has a digital and optical image stabilizer, with portrait effect, night or beauty mode.
The other sensor is the wide angle and it is the Samsung S5KJN1 of 50Mpx and it takes macro photos of up to 4cm. It has an isocell lens and 114° field of vision.
On the front we have the selfie camera and it is a 16Mpx Sony IMX471 Exmor RS sensor.

Summary
The nothing Phone 1 conquers you at first glance. With its transparent back and Glyph lighting, they have made an innovative design that has managed to attract many people, thanks to the hype and that different style.
The quality of its components, hardware, software, etc., apart from its price, make this mobile a safe bet in its range.

I think that if I had to buy a new phone, this would be my first choice.
