  • Boox Note Air 2 - The ultimate e-paper Tablet?

I’ve been wanting to buy an e-paper tablet/scribbler/notepad for a long time now to improve my workflow and to spare nature the waste of some tons of lumber.

I’ve been following Remarkable for a long time but I was never convinced by how closed their system is and, more recently, by the subscription mechanism.

If you’re one of those thinking I should get an iPad with the pen you either didn’t try a e-ink display or the ipad and pen.. it works but it doesn’t give the feeling I am looking for.

A couple months ago I got a Onix Boox Note Air 2 (PLUS) and here is what I think about it.

IT’S GREAT

I mean, it doesn’t come free but I love the way I can take notes and search on my annoations without issues, the way I can read pdf (yes it works fine unlike it does on my kindle) and annotate on top of them, the way I can link a note to a pdf etc. etc.

With the Plus version that I got Onix added the Google App store by factory which is great to install easily any android app you might imagine (I’m using ClickUp for work, Drive, OneDrive, Gmail, and much more).

Battery is pretty decent although I was expecting much more (thinking about my kindle) but it is reasonable considering it is actually a tablet under the hood.

I’m not fully convinced by the pen. The tip wear very fast and it doesn’t come with an eraser so I’m planning on getting a Samsung S6 tab pen and some more tips.

Overall I’m very much convinced. Have you got something similar? How do you like it?

p.s. I’ve seen Amazon announced Kindle Scribe and I’m quite excited to try one.

Thanks for the read 🙂 Haven’t had the chance to try an e-paper tablet.

seriousjoker seems quite similar to the matepad paper and I’m curious about because these ones seem, as you already said, much different from a standard tablet with stylus

di_lorenzo Not that different indeed. In my opinion the onix is technically better (or I wouldn’t have chosen it).
I can suggest you a couple of review of the matepad from people expert in e-ink devices but for me the no-dealer was the pen of the huawei that needs to be charged to work.
