Nothing is a technology brand founded in 2020 by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus. The company has distinguished itself with its focus on innovative and minimalist designs, seeking to stand out in the saturated smartphone market. The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is the improved version of the Phone (2a), launched in March 2024. This new model maintains the brand’s characteristic aesthetics, including the iconic Glyph Interface on the back, which consists of an LED system that provides unique visual notifications.
Key specifications
Display: The device features a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2412 × 1084 pixels. It offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1300 nits, ensuring an excellent visual experience.
Processor: One of the most significant improvements is the incorporation of the new MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro 5G, which provides superior performance compared to the previous model.
Storage and RAM: The Phone (2a) Plus comes with 256 GB of internal storage, surpassing the 128 GB base option of the standard model.
Battery and charging: It maintains the 5,000 mAh capacity but improves the fast charging speed to 50 W, compared to the 45 W of the Phone (2a).
Camera: The most notable upgrade is in the front camera, which now features a 50-megapixel sensor, a significant jump from the 32 MP of the previous model.
Design and software
The Phone (2a) Plus retains Nothing’s distinctive design but introduces new metallic colors: Black and Gray. The device runs NothingOS 2.6, a customized version of Android that emphasizes AI integration and offers a unique user experience. Nothing promises three major operating system updates and four years of security updates, demonstrating its commitment to long-term support. With these improvements, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus positions itself as an attractive option in the mid-range, offering a balance between performance, innovative design, and a competitive price of 399 pounds/dollars.
Personally, it’s a phone that I’ve had my eye on, whether for its price, what it offers in terms of value for money, or for its spectacular design. I would very much like to try it and leave a good review.
