Long have you waited! I am finally talking about Nothing Phone 1 today! Sorry guys for the delay!
I was so excited when I was selected as the tester of Nothing Phone 1. I have watched a lot of videos since then. I really loved the design of it before or after I received the actual device. However, I am not very sure about how I like this device after I received it.
Features
- It looked great, the glyph light, the glass on the back were all great for me. When I took it to work, everyone asked what phone that I was using. (Most of them didn’t hear the name Nothing before.) It is very recognizable for many people.
I was an iPhone user, so it took me sometime to switch to the Nothing Phone. Android has a lot of useful functions now I recon, but some of those I just don’t know how to use. 😅
- Well the system problems didn’t bother me too much, it suits my daily activities well, the system runs smoothly when I browse the internet or social media. Sometimes it freezes or lags, but not too long.
- Although I like the back glass, it makes me look through the inner design, but I just don’t really like how it always leaves my fingerprints on it.
- UI is very fun compared to other phones. Every operation comes with a smooth vibration which feels so much better than all other phones. I liked the font and the clean design of it, nothing gets too stand out, so the background stays the background. It makes comfortable spaces for a lot of customization.
- Cameras are not very good in terms of color and other stuff. The difference is huge when compared with my previous iPhone. The sound is also not stereo, which is also the most noticeable
Good for daily use.
- I still love to carry it around. I don’t use it for anything extra. There is also a problem, it looks very much like an iPhone. So, sometimes I forgot I switched to an android, so I was confused why I couldn’t access my iCloud or Airdrop.
Cons
- But I don’t like it’s camera and the speaker, especially compared to my iPhone. Well, they don’t put me off using it. Generally it is a great phone for me. At a price of 499, half way the price of an iPhone, I would definitely pay for it in my next phone switch!
That’s a summary from me, I love to keep this phone and I hope to receive more chances to test out stuff on Tryout!
I am not a tech expert, many of the points came from my own tastes of design and aesthetic. I hope you guys enjoy the review.
Rating
- 4 out of 5 as everything feels good for me, what I liked the most is the design, the UI and the phone as a whole.
