Living in Florida, I’d actually consider an e-bike if the infrastructure was better. The heat and humidity here make regular biking brutal, but an e-bike would at least let you cruise without arriving completely drenched in sweat.
The biggest issue is safety though - bike lanes here are sketchy at best, and drivers don’t respect cyclists. Plus, storing it securely would be another concern since e-bikes are expensive and theft-prone.
For shorter trips (under 5 miles) it’d be perfect, but I’d still keep a car for longer distances, grocery runs, or rainy days. The battery range anxiety is real too.
