I live in a very chaotic city, Rome in Italy, and I use my bike every day to go to work or for fun. In the evening I always proceed with great caution because drivers are increasingly distracted by the use of their smartphones and I often feel the danger behind me. I am sure that with the use of devices like this the risk for cyclists could be greatly reduced.

As a retired cop, I can say, hand on heart, that I want my son wearing one of these - or similar - when he is out on the roads, on his bike. Drivers often simply don’t see cyclists, or if they do, they don’t pay attention. Of course, you’ll always have the bad cyclists, but, based on my decades of experience, cyclists are injured and killed primarily as a result of drivers’ lack of attention. This remedies that - or helps increase the odds of being seen and recognised, on the roads, MASSIVELY. That can only be a good thing.

If I had my way, every kids’ bike would come with a helmet and one of these, as standard. Then it’s up to the parents and kids, whether they’re used. In an ideal world, I know…. Look, up in the sky - there’s a lesser-spotted Porcine Swift! 🙄😏
