As an avid Xbox gamer, the GameSir X2 Pro Xbox Mobile Game Controller has had a transformative impact on my gaming experience. The controller’s ease of use, coupled with its comfortable grip, makes it ideal for prolonged gaming sessions, whether on the go or during air travel. The controller’s responsive buttons and joystick have substantially enhanced my overall gaming experience. In summary, I strongly recommend the GameSir X2 Pro to any Xbox gamer looking to enjoy their games on the go.

Typically, the primary concern I encounter with mobile controllers is their battery life. However, this product effectively mitigates this issue by eliminating the need for battery replacements or recharging. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the fact that you can plug in a USB-C to this controller and still maintain the charge on your phone. This makes me want to take the mobile gaming controller on all the trips that I usually go on. Imagine how much time you spend at an airport just to board your flight + the flight time itself. The convenience and practicality offered by the controller make it an ideal accompaniment to my travels.
Appearance:
The design of this controller is exceptionally sleek and contemporary, featuring a black matte finish that exudes a sense of sophistication. The controller’s material is smooth to the touch and ergonomically designed for comfortable use. The placement of the Xbox logo/button at the bottom of the controller is well thought out and does not interfere with gameplay. The button layout is intuitive, making it effortless to use, and the joystick and D-pad offer a highly responsive gaming experience.
The carrying case with the purchase is an added bonus, as it allows for the convenient and secure storage of all components while on the go. This ensures that there are no concerns regarding any items falling out or becoming lost during transport.
Setup and connection:
Set up was straight forward, all you had to do is follow a few steps to register and connect the setup files to the controller in sync with the application on your phone. You did have an option to configure the buttons as well which I thought was nice and unique since usually you don’t get to have those kinds of options. I am sure that is because this controller can be used not just for Xbox but also Stadia and Luna gaming as well.
Display performance:
When using the GameSir X2 Pro-Xbox controller with my Samsung S22, I have found it necessary to disable power saving mode and switch to performance mode to ensure the phone can keep up with the gameplay. This has significantly improved my overall gaming experience, and I encountered no issues with the controller as I played games.
Functionality:
The controller’s buttons are highly responsive, and I did not experience any noticeable lag during gameplay of Need for Speed, Battlefield 2042, or Mortal Kombat, which are the primary games I have played and continue to play. However, I did find the controller to be somewhat cramped, and needing the occasional adjustments to obtain a more secure grip. A more supportive design on the backside of the controller would have been beneficial in preventing slipping while playing.
Regarding the USB-C port, I initially had concerns upon observing it. However, I later discovered that the port is designed to move up and down, allowing for the easy insertion of the phone without fear of damaging the USB-C or phone charging port. This is a well-conceived feature, and it was highly reassuring, and I was pleased to see it incorporated into the product design to avoid a user breaking their phone port.
Performance in different scenarios: home, offices/ traveling:
It is recommended that users download a game or two onto their phone to enable offline play. However, in the case of the game pass, a great internet connection is necessary to ensure a seamless online gaming experience. When playing in public spaces, the quality of the Wi-Fi or 5G connection must be reliable to prevent any interruptions or lag during gameplay. In contrast, playing from home on a strong Wi-Fi connection offers a more stable gaming experience, and avoid lag or connection dropouts that may cause disruption or result in disconnection from the game.
Other aspects you may think of:
One of the standout features of this controller is its compatibility with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This means that you can play a wide range of Xbox games on your mobile device with the same controller you use on your Xbox console. This is a huge plus for Xbox gamers who want to take their games on the go
Comparison with other similar products (if you have) – I don’t have any other mobile gaming products as I just recently started playing and getting in to console games.
Suggestions for the products: Cons for the product? How to improve?
1. One area for improvement could be the button placement, which could be adjusted slightly to make them more comfortable to reach for certain hand sizes. A little more room on between buttons would be great, in my opinion. For someone with a larger hand, they would certainly feel that the controller is small for them.
2. Some more instructions would have been great to receive with in the box itself.
3. I will say that I do have to take my phone case off each time I am playing or wanting to play a game, its more of a hassle and with a small improvement to how far the port extends would remove the need to take the phone case off.
Despite these minor improvements, this controller is an excellent option for anyone looking to take gaming on the go.
Price range: Excellent price point for what you are getting. I would up to 100 dollars for this controller.
Overall: Great product and if the few minor adjustments were made, I would give this a 5 out of 5 review.
