As image processing and smartphone lenses and sensors develop more and more, the image and video qualities get closer and closer to actual cameras, yet the gap always exists between a smartphone camera and an actual camera. No matter what you do, the effect of not having a big lens is still noticable sometimes. Xiaomi challenged this idea and made the Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept phone, with an exposed 1 inch sensor and a big attachable lens. While it’s bulky and it probably still needs some developing, I personally think that it’s a great idea to overcome the limitations of small phone lenses, for example: Having a separate, average phone sized lense for everyday use and a separate, big lens for whenever you want to improve the quality or zoom. What do you guys think? Will attachable lenses be the future?
