Thoughts on some of the top Android brands right now?

Me and my friend have been arguing for weeks to determine what is the best android company, as a whole (not just flagships). I landed on Xiaomi, because of how diverse and open it is, whereas my friend remained with the original android king, Samsung!

What do you guys think should also be considered?

In some things one can be better than the other, as a Xiaomi user sometimes I don’t like certain aspects and I see other brands but it is each person’s taste.
