Hey Heyup Community!
So recently I sadly lost my Jabra 75T earbuds, which were the best earbuds I’ve ever used, I absolutely loved them. I’ve been researching some earbuds lately and decided to go with the Nothing Ear (2) and see what the hype is all about. I’ve used them for about 3 days now so this will be more of a first impressions than a full on review.

Packaging
The Nothing Ear (2) comes with pretty basic earbuds stuff. It includes:
- The earbuds + charging case
- Instruction booklets, with QR code to install their app
- Braided white cable (which is pretty nice)
- Extra ear tips
You definitely feel the Nothing branding as soon as you open the outer box, with their special branded text and sleek black box, which I am a huge fan of. The braided white cable is type C to type C, definitely better than your average cable you get with most other earbuds.
Build Quality
I’ve seen the Ear (1) charging case before and I was not a fan of it at all. It felt like cheap plastic that wasn’t very durable and prone to scratches. I’m happy to say that the Ear (2) case is much better. It feels solid, not to mention the black case just looks more premium than its predecessor. The earbuds themselves also feel great, fitting pretty snug in my ears. I did have to take a break after long use (after 1-2 hour range), but that is normal for me, as I’ve had this problem with other earbuds as well. Maybe I have small earholes, I don’t know😂.
Touch Controls
There were 2 things that were new to me that I needed to get used to. First was pairing using the case, which isn’t a problem at all for me. Actually it is pretty convinent as you dont need to put the earbuds into your ear first and then hold down a button like for earbuds I’ve used in the past. Definitely a feature more companies should adopt!
Second, were the capacitive touch buttons on the earbuds, which I am still learning, but quickly getting used to. My Jabra had physical buttons so it was much easier to control everything. The Ear (2) uses sensors and also place them on the top side of the earbuds, instead of the opposite of tips like most other earbuds that utilize touch controls. At first I didn’t know how to control it at all but then I figured out you basically need to pinch the bottom portion of the buds to control it. It’s been pretty responsive after I figured out the “pinch” motion so all is good now.

Sound
Last but not least, the most importan part; the sound.
I am in no means an audiophile but I can tell between good and bad sound quality at least. The Ear (2) definitely pass as great sounding earbuds and I’m very happy with it. Music sounds very crisp and the bass is great. Comparing with my previous earbuds, the Jabra 75T (which are great in their own right), I’d say the Nothing Ear (2) is slightly better.
The thing that absolutely wow’d me though is the noise cancellation. At my office there is quite an audible air conditioning sound, which you basically tune out as background noise after a while. But when I first put on the Nothing Ear (2) at work, it just went completely silent. At first I thought the AC was turned off, but after a minute I realized it was actually the noise cancellation of the earbuds. There’s also like a half second transition period of when you first put them into your ear when it turns on and it is pretty glorious as the world around your just goes completely silent. Definitely recommend these on an airplane, you’ll never have to worry about a crying child on the plane ever again!
Overall
Recommend them for sure. The price is on par with what you get in my opinon. They look great (I’m a sucker for transparent design), sound great, and feel great. What more can you ask for?
Now I haven’t tested their app yet to truely experience these earbuds but I will be doing it soon. Maybe I’ll update it into this review afterwards.
