Hello fellow Heyuppers!
Seeing how the Anbernic RG 406H won last week’s Top Pick, I wonder how this community feels about Retro Handhelds. These single-purpose machines built only to play our totally legally-owned retro games feed our hunger of nostalgia to play hundreds of ROMs of old games, from ZX Spectrum to Sega Dreamcast, and anything in between.
But.
The truth is we all carry a device that is capable of doing the exact same thing — our smartphones. Any modern smartphone, from entry level to flagship gaming phones, is capable of running a plethora of emulators to play countless games. So, my question to you is… do retro handhelds like the ones Anbernic is selling make sense or is just the latest fad online and something you don’t really see yourself owning?
