Hello I had the pleasure of testing the Nothing Phone (3a) first I loved the design. It is futuristic yet clean, with geometric shapes and straight edges. Its rear cover incorporates the brand’s characteristic light elements. Apparently, it is IP64 certified, offering water and dust resistance. I admit that I didn’t try to put it under water 😅 It is equipped with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. The maximum brightness reaches 3,000 nits, ensuring good readability even in direct sunlight. And it’s true! Even in the street, with the good weather of the last few days, I was able to read my messages without any problem. Overall, the display offers a smooth and immersive viewing experience.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, accompanied by 8 to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. This configuration ensures smooth operation, even with resource-intensive applications. I play games on smartphones, this phone blew me away with how smooth it is. And it doesn’t overheat. Let’s go for the most important thing for me, photos and videos. The “Elite Camera System” camera system includes:
A 50 MP main sensor A 50 MP telephoto lens with up to 30x optical zoom An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 120° field of view Image processing is enhanced by AI via the TrueLens Engine 3.0, delivering professional-quality photos, even in low light. Afterwards, honestly, I always make sure to have a good light and the photos and videos are superb. 4K video recording also benefits from stabilization optimized by artificial intelligence.
Equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, the Nothing Phone (3a) offers up to 26 hours of YouTube playback time. 50W fast charging restores 50% battery in 19 minutes and a full charge in 56 minutes. The smartphone runs on Nothing OS 3.1, based on Android 15. It benefits from 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates, ensuring an appreciable software longevity. The only downside is that you don’t have the charger with the phone and it’s not a classic charger. Apart from that, I’m won over by this phone. Another thing I love is the Glyph interface and the bright notifications.
On the other hand, we are a little limited in ringtones but now it is possible to download them, so it’s not a problem. I totally validate this phone. And I’ll tell you even better, I was from the Redmi team and well if I had to buy a phone again I think I could largely turn to nothig phone!
