For a week now, I’ve used the REDMAGIC 10 Pro as my single device, and I must stress that performance-wise, it’s incredibly silky-smooth. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory handled my 40 Chrome tabs, a call on Teams, and a gaming session for Genshin Impact without showing any visible signs of stress. Additionally, the 6.85-inch 1.5 K AMOLED screen at 144 Hz provided silky-smooth scrolling and swiping. Even when subjected to harsh midday sunlight conditions, its 2,000-nit peak brightness ensured everything on the screen was clear and not a single bit of glare in sight. And finally, in terms of battery life, the 7,050 mAh capacity easily lasted over 12 hours of mixed work and gaming sessions and replenished half of that in under 15 minutes thanks to its 80 W GaN charging solution.
What finally sealed the deal for me was how REDMAGIC tackled thermal management and added features specific to gamers. The ICE-X liquid-metal cooling system, supported by a built-in turbo fan, successfully kept surface temperatures in check, thus precluding any throttling during marathon gaming sessions or benchmarking runs. The customizable shoulder triggers, RGB light effects, and stereo speakers are not just for show but actually enhance immersion in first-person shooters and driving games; the presence of a solid 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones is also appreciated. One change I would like to see is the addition of a quick-access toggle to switch between Gamer and Standard modes, since presently this option is a bit buried in the menus; a notification shade widget would make profile switching a smoother affair. In totality, the 10 Pro is more than just a flashy gaming phone; it works fantastically well as a solid daily workhorse.
P.S.- A lot of you have asked for pics and vids. I’m still new at reviewing, so I did’t take pics or make vids, thought there were enough of those on the internet. I’ve already traded it with the S24 ultra, since I’m not much of a phone-gamer. Very sorry about that guys, thanks for the advise tho, I’ll make sure to do all that the next time. Sorry again for disappointing.
