I was selected as one of the reviewers for the Xiaomi Buds 5. My first impression of these headphones is that they look very similar to Apple AirPods, but the performance of these earbuds are okay.
This is the box that it comes in
Appearance: They look just like Apple Air Pods but silver. The case is clean, they’re also not too bulky when placed in pockets.
Functionality: The functionality of these buds are really simple and makes perfect sense. Like basics, pinch the bottom to pause/unpause, double pinch is next, triple pinch is back. To change the volume, you have to pinch the bottom part of the earbuds, slide up to to turn the volume up and slide down to decrease the volume. It has noise cancelation and transparent mode but I don’t know how to switch them.(I’ll get more into it later)
Price: I actually don’t know how much these are but I saw a lot of them being listed for around 120-270 dollars. I don’t think these are worth anything $100, if you would ask me, I would probably pay about $40-50 dollars for it.
Connection: It was super easy to connect, all I had to do was to open the case while leaving the the earbuds in, and then long press the button besides the charging port.
Comfort: I personally don’t like enjoy how it feels, I like ear pods with cushions instead. I feel like ear pods without them is kind of too rough in my ears. Also when I run with these on, I can hear the wind gushing into my ears messing up with the audio. When the headphones are on noise canceling mode, it doesn’t cancel noise as well as others earbuds and it puts a lot more pressure in my ear.
Cons: The instructions are all in Chinese, I tried to download the online version of the app for the earbuds but it isn’t available to download in the U.S.
Pros: Very simple to use, In my opinion, the volume feature is the best feature on the earbuds. Not many earbuds have a way to change volume unless you go to the device itself to change it.
Also can someone tell me how to switch from noise cancelation to transparent mode? I can’t download the app to see use it. I’ll be happy to answer any questions.
