Is the iPhone iCloud+ worth it?

I am having issues with constantly running out of space on my iPhone 12. I have 256gbs worth of space and over half of that space is used by photos and videos. Is there anyone in the community who currently uses iCloud+ and what are your thoughts on it, is it worth it, or are there better alternatives that don’t break the bank. I also want a guarantee that none of my photos or videos will be erased!

Homeslicey If you are all in with the Apple ecosystem, then I think it’s certainly worth the money. My wife and I use Google Photos/One instead only because I have other phones and devices outside of Apple and it’s easier to share with those devices.

Homeslicey I have it and I would say it is worth it but just so you know it: it is a rabbit hole and once you get it you will stack data on iCloud+ and will have to had more and more space. I currently am at 2TB space because I started 2 y ago with some 100Gb worth of pics and once I set iCloud+ I lost contact with it.. in one year I collected some 600Gb more!

Honestly, I think iCloud+ is worth it if you use your iPhone a lot. The free 5GB runs out almost instantly once you start backing up photos, apps, and messages. With iCloud+ you get more storage, plus handy extras like Private Relay for privacy, Hide My Email, and the option to share storage with family.

For me, the main benefit is just peace of mind knowing my photos and phone are backed up automatically without me having to think about it. The cheapest plan is under £1 a month, so it’s not a big cost either.

If you don’t take loads of photos or don’t care about backups, you could probably skip it. But for most iPhone users, it’s honestly worth having.

Thank you everyone for your awesome advice. I’m currently waiting for the pre orders with my phone company for the iPhone 17s to come out to see what their pricing is going to be and will probably end up having to purchase some sort of upgraded storage, unless the 1TB phone isn’t going to cost me an arm and a leg all at once.
