Mini in size, maxi in style and performance

UNBOXING
If you think a small robot like the Deebot Mini can’t mean business, you’re very wrong… it’s proof that sometimes brands nail a product in the most unexpected category. With its measurements it’s one of the most compact robot vacuums around; it looks like an LP record in motion, a reduced-size T30 Omni.
Cleaning and mopping: small but tough
Thanks to its TrueMapping 2.0 and OZMO Turbo 2.0 systems, it carefully maps the home and combines vacuuming and mopping with 9000 Pa of power and an energetic rotation of the rotating mops, while its anti-tangle brush, the ZeroTangle 2.0 technology, removes hair and fur effectively. Given its size I was amazed to see that it vacuums and mops as well as a good mid-range model.
Design that makes an impression
This isn’t just a robot vacuum: it’s a design object. Soft lines and glossy, quality ABS plastic finishes, with various pop colors like blue, lime green, orange, purple, red and black: there’s one for every style of modern décor. It looks like a little vintage gadget. So, in addition to cleaning, the Deebot Mini also makes a statement in the living room of a small apartment, in a modern or retro studio or office.

Mini dimensions, maxi cleaning
I tried the Ecovacs Deebot Mini in my daily routine and I can confirm that good things come in small packages. This ultra-compact robot vacuum amazes with how it simplifies household cleaning in tight spaces, without excessive complications for the user. The Deebot Mini, with its reduced diameter, can also clean nimbly under low furniture and in very tight spaces. It has a diameter of 26,8 cm and a height of less than 10 cm, numbers that make it one of the smallest robot vacuums in the world after the Switchbot K11+ (next review). Thanks to these dimensions it can slip where other robots don’t even try: I see it darting under the sofa and between chair legs like a little cleaning sprite.

Small and convenient charging base
The Deebot Mini’s charging station is so compact that it fits into any corner or small space in the house, it takes up very little floor space, so I can place it in a corner without moving the décor. During the auto-emptying phases, the mop washing, and at the end of the job the robot returns to the base on its own and looks like a trained puppy returning to its kennel, a scene that always brings a smile. Essentially, the Deebot Mini manages itself like the “big” robots; it also has hot-air drying at 45°, leaving me only the task of managing the 2-in-1 water tank and since it does not lift the mops on carpets and in vacuum-only mode (but with a robot this compact you have to accept some compromises), these must be removed manually.

Everyday performance and ease of use
Despite its mini size, this robot offers remarkable suction power: it collects dust, crumbs and pet hair effortlessly, leaving me almost amazed; I was very satisfied with the results in both vacuuming and mopping, it also has an edge-cleaning function by rotating the robot to bring the mops closer to edges and corners.. It’s also quiet: the operating noise is very low, so much so that I can start it during smart working without disturbance (and without scaring the cat who actually watches it curiously). Everyday use is very simple: I can customize and start cleaning with a tap in the Ecovacs Home app or by pressing the button on the robot, and there’s the option to schedule automatic cleaning times. Details like the integrated handle make it easy to move between floors of the house or into areas not directly accessible, a sign of attention to handling. It is naturally is compatible with all voice assistants.

Final considerations
The DEEBOT mini is proof that “small is the new smart”: it packs a super-compact package with 9,000 Pa suction, rotating mops and a complete station in just 38.5 cm of height. It’s perfect as a main robot for studios/one-bedrooms or as a second robot on other smaller floors, when spaces are tight and you want zero clutter without giving up “big-league” features, price 499€ but it is often on sale.
Pros: record-breaking dimensions, low noise, automated management thanks to the mini OMNI Station, good features/price ratio.
Cons: small internal tank (good thing there’s auto-emptying), the mops must be removed manually for vacuum-only cleaning.
If you’re looking for maximum compactness with premium features (auto-emptying, mop washing and drying), today the DEEBOT mini is the benchmark in the “ultra compact” category. In small homes it performs better than many standard robots because it reaches where others don’t, and it does so with style.
