Crimes of the Future. I believe that will be the winner. But, I have to say I am biased as I am a fan of Cronenberg. A lot of his movies are more about exploring some odd (believable) concepts that COULD come to pass. Also, I don’t think you can go wrong with casting Viggo.
My problem with things akin to Cannes, is that most critics do not have the same opinion as to what makes a good movie I do. I do not like watching Previews or Trailers of movies. They tend to ruin or mislead a movie and give a preconception of what the movie is about. I prefer a synopsis or generalities. That way my suspension of disbelief is easier to obtain. It allows me to appreciate the movie while watching instead of critiquing this or that of the movie. If I watch a movie a second time, that is when I like to not find flaws, but delve deeper into the mechanics, score, scenes and how they could have made the story/movie better.
For me, reviews and critics tend to miss the point of a movie (especially game critics). I don’t like other people trying to color my perception of a movie. I am trying to recall a specific movie about how everyone was saying such and such was the hero, when I think it was a woman that (in the movie) played a minor part. But if it had not been for her, none of the movie would have happened.
Dang it, I need to rewatch some recent movies and come back and edit this post. When I find out which movie I am talking about I will come back and edit it.
