The best thing about the L40 Ultra AE is how smart it is when it moves around your home.
My old L10s Ultra was really good, but the L40 Ultra AE sees everything much better. It has strong sensors and AI that help it drive smoothly without getting stuck. It avoids things like charging cables, socks, and small toys instead of bumping into them or trying to suck them in. The robot can recognize upp to 120 obstacles.
One thing I really like is how it handles mirrors. If a big mirror makes the map think there’s an extra room or hallway, the robot understands it’s not real and shows a message in the app asking if you want to remove it. That kind of smart thinking makes a big difference.
For me, the best robot is one you don’t have to worry about. The L40 Ultra AE is so smart that it almost never needs help. It just works on its own, and that makes cleaning feel easy and stress free.
Hot Water Mopping IT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!
This is where the AE really shows how good it is compared to the basic models. The mopping is much better. It uses two spinning pads that press down hard and remove dried spills and stains without effort. The washing is also great. Just like my L10s Ultra, the AE has a strong dock, but this one uses hot water to clean the mop pads with 75 grade celsius. That makes a big difference because hot water removes dirt better, dries the pads faster, and stops bad smells.
It also reaches the edges very well. Instead of having extend brush, it has a long side brush that easily reaches into corners and pushes the dirt toward the main rollers, so the edges get clean properly.
The robot is not only smart, it’s powerful too. The AE version has a huge 19,000 Pa suction power, so it picks up deep dirt from carpets and hair from hard floors without any problem. It also uses the battery in a smart way, cleaning a large area on one charge. For me, it can clean the whole home quickly without needing to stop and recharge.
The L40 Ultra AE Sends the Robot for a Second Run When the Mops Are Too Dirty
I noticed something really smart with the L40 Ultra AE. In the dock there is a small sensor that checks how dirty the mops are after the cleaning. If the sensor sees that the mops are still very dirty, the robot goes out again and cleans the floor one more time. You don’t have to do anything yourself. It just makes sure the floor becomes properly clean before it finishes.
My honest opinion
I still really love my L10s Ultra, but the Dreame L40 Ultra AE has become my new favourite. It keeps everything I liked before strong suction, great mopping, and a dock that does the work for you but it adds even smarter navigation that makes a big difference.
If you want a robot that cleans your floors well every time, and you don’t want to pull it free from cables or toys, this one is the right choice.
