Marco34 The differences between the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone 17 Pro Max are quite significant.
Performance.
The 13 Pro Max uses the A15 Bionic chip, while the 17 Pro Max runs on a much newer A series chip. This means the 17 Pro Max is noticeably faster, more efficient, and better suited for future iOS updates.
Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max does not support Apple’s new AI features. The iPhone 17 Pro Max fully supports Apple Intelligence, including smarter Siri, text and notification summaries, and on-device AI processing.
Camera & Photography.
The 13 Pro Max has a 12 MP main camera with 3× optical zoom. The 17 Pro Max features a 48 MP main camera, improved telephoto zoom, better low light performance, enhanced image stabilisation, and more advanced computational photography.
Video Recording.

The 13 Pro Max uses a Lightning port and older wireless standards. The 17 Pro Max uses USB C, supports newer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards, has more RAM, and is lighter with a more refined design.
Software Support.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will receive iOS updates for many more years, whereas the 13 Pro Max is closer to the later part of its support lifecycle.
In short brother, The iPhone 13 Pro Max is still a capable phone and great if you’d like to have one for testing purposes or as a second cell phone and get the experience out of it all and it a reasonable priced, but the iPhone 17 Pro Max is a major upgrade in performance, AI features, camera quality, video capabilities, battery efficiency, and long term support.
However; saying all of that I will upgrade mine in 2026 to the iPhone 18 Pro Max or the iPhone Fold. 😊
