Hey guys!
Here’s my unbiased review of the Boxe Lite ^_^ Hope you like it and find it useful.
The HeyUp Boxe lite is a good addition to people’s home media, providing a nice picture and a small form factor.
The whole body is made of sturdy plastic which feels of a high quality and the most important part is that I feature a ¼ inch thread at the bottom so that it can be easily mounted to a tripod.
At the back top side you can find all the ports, which in this case are:
1. HDMI
2. USB Type-A
3. 3.5 mm jack
I feel that these are more than enough as you can plug in your pc/laptop via an HDMI cable (not provided) or transfer some media to a USB drive and use it on the go.
At the top of the Boxe are the power button and the focus adjustment ring, which rotates easily and without any hustle needed. Finally, is the front of the device, where you can see the big lens and the IR receiver.
Overall, the design is modern, clean and what I love most is the compact form factor that makes the Boxe easy to carry or store.
The HeyUp Boxe Lite relies on external power only and it comes with a provided power cable. Unfortunately, this device cannot work with an external source like a power bank, or a USB cable, but you can use it with an external battery with a proper outlet, but this makes the set even heavier.
I assume that the Boxe Lite is made to be used in the home or the garden, gathering friends and enjoying some movies or sports events, where power outlet is present, so for me, it’s a no-no for camping.
One of the best features of the Boxe Lite is that it features built-in speakers, so you don’t have to worry about that, but if you want, you can connect external speakers via Bluetooth, for ease of use.
The screen that it provides is big enough for most needs and keeping in mind the price tag of the projector, it delivers good colors and respectable brightness. For the last part, I must mention that it’s best to use it in a pitch-black room, so you don’t miss any detail of the multimedia you are watching, but even in a bit lighter room, I saw no issues with the level of brightness.
Here are some of the more important specs:
• 1080P Supported
• 80 - 120 Inches Projection
• 150 True ANSI Lumens
• 1000:1 Contrast Ratio
• Keystone Correction & Focusing
• 75% NTSC Color Gamut
The Boxe Lite runs on Android 9 and this means that you have access to Google Play Store, so you can download many media and streaming services apps. I use it with YouTube, Twitch, and Prime (from time to time) and I am more than happy to tell you that the software works well, without any glitches or such. It’s easy to navigate but if you don’t want to use the built-in services, you can cast your device via Miracast, DLNA, or AirPlay, so you can stream your vids to the Boxe Lite.
The remote control that is included in the package is a great addition because it’s more convenient to navigate the menu system.
Overall, the Boxe Lite provides great options, good brightness, and plenty of adjustments to the picture but lacks auto-adjustment, which for me is a very handy option that saves a lot of time, especially when changing the position/ place of the projector.
I enjoy the use of it, the colors that it delivers, and the built-in speakers for the ease of the viewer.
