On July 29th, FIIL launched their FIIL GS Lite open-ear Bluetooth headphones. Despite my unfamiliarity with the brand, I’ve observed a growing trend of open-ear buds entering the market. Heyup initially introduced users to open-earbuds with the 2022 tryout of Oladance OWS.
In 2024, numerous OWS earbuds have flooded the market. Share your experiences with the OWS earbuds you’ve purchased.
The FIIL FIIL GS Lite headphones feature custom carbon fiber racetrack dynamic drivers and boast an impressive 45-hour battery life, starting at 299 yuan. They utilize Bluetooth 5.4 for dual-device connectivity and automatic switching. The earphone-to-battery case weight ratio is 6:4, with a lightweight design of just 6g. Additionally, they include a 0.68mm titanium alloy wire, dual-microphone ENC noise reduction, and support AAC/SBC decoding. The earphones provide 10 hours of standalone battery life, extendable to 45 hours with the charging case.
The battery life ranges we’ve seen across different brands typically span from 20 hours up to 90 hours with charging cases, so there’s nothing particularly exceptional about this aspect.
Available in “Frost Black” and currently out-of-stock “Mica White,” the FIIL FIIL GS Lite headphones are designed with an ergonomic shape for a “zero-pressure” fit. They feature patented “directional sound guidance without leakage” technology and are IPX5 waterproof and sweat-resistant.
Zero pressure feeling" is crucial, despite many brands claiming it; however, prolonged wear can affect comfort, particularly for glasses wearers and heavy earphone users, making comfort a key consideration when choosing OWS earphones. ENC technology is also significant, but its effectiveness can only be truly assessed once you’ve experienced it firsthand.
