I may be a cranky old man but I just don’t like it when I lose the ability to choose things. I’m sure the esim tech will eventually make life easy, but right now I don’t see it. I fear it opens the doors to more security risks, further limits my cell service options in an already limited market for cell services, and to add insult to injury, when borders have finally opened up and we can travel internationally, this phone is useless to me. I can’t buy a little short-term travel sim for the country I’m vacationing in and pop it into the phone and work. Instead, I have to hope where I am going will work and have cell services that work via esim, or I have to bring a different phone.
So, thanks Apple, but no thanks. Give me back my SIM tray. The world isn’t ready to be forced into this yet I say.
Now if it was esim + normal SIM like everywhere else, I would be perfectly happy.
