Well this isn’t such an uncommon thing and could happen to most of the phones which use li-ion or li-po batteries. This simply happens to some of them and such a battery should not be exchanged by non-professionals because they could burn or explode.

I was just about to link this same video, and I also came to think that this issue occurs only with discharged phones sitting stored without being touched much, because both my parents still use today the su edge with no sign of this issue, while smartphones from even a couple years ago sitting unused had inflated battery

DarkPikaJP Yeah but at least this time Jerryrigeverything tested them and even punctured them but samsung improved the explosion reistance

I already made a discussion around that video 2 days ago. As someone in that thread said it seems to be a pattern with phones left with empty batteries for a long period of time. This is pretty dissapointing since I was heavily considering investing in a Samsung device for my next phone (S22 Ultra).

Also kind of shocking Samsung hasn’t said anything yet.

I’m not really surprised, we had various Samsungs in the family since the Note 2 (i had that personally), and most of them had battery issues after being a in a drawer a lot of time after their retirement, while many other ones from other brands didn’t.
