Build Quality (⅗)
Depending on its price the build quality is good. the Case feels like it is carved out of a solid block. The AirBuds themselves are not in that same state, you can feel a little gap or a offset between the front and the back of them. This doesn’t effect the wearing comfort, but a better processing of the Buds would improve the overall impression The cable is only for charging, it does not support data transfer, but of course the case can be charged with any other USB Type-C cable.
App (⅘)
It is the same as with the AirBuds Pro, the UMIDIGI app is used to connect to the phone. Also the Settings are very similar than the one for the Air Buds Pro, the only difference is that there is whether ANC nor a transparency mode. You could set Volume +, Volume-, next song and previous song for double tap and triple tap. Play/Pause could only be set for double tapping. The gestures could be set separately for both buds, so you could choose four different gestures. The gesture recognition works mostly, sometimes I had to repeat them, but that could also be due to my mp3 Player. with my smartphone or the PC I do not have had any misinterpretations.
The app is also used to Update the Firmware. The Sound could be personalized by the Equalizer which features a few presets or could be customized to your behavior.
The Charging state could only be seen for the Buds, not for the case.
Case (⅘)
What is different to the most other cases I have used is the fact that this one does not have a cover, so you don’t net to open the case to get the Buds out. Usually the it is easy to get them out of the case with just pushing them gently out. sometimes they doesn’t want to come out of the box, I had this issue 3 Times, so it is really seldom. I couldn’t really figure out what the course has been, maybe it has been some dust which has come between the case and the buds. This had been solved by simply pulling them out from above. The case has a LED to be used as Charging indicator. This will be red while charging and become green when it is fully charged, but there is no indication for its state while in use.
Earpieces (3.5/5)
There is also a LED on both buds, which shows the Charging in the same way as the cases LED does, while the Buds are connected to the case.
The buds are solid, but they have a good fit and even using them for hours doesn’t get uncomfortable. A negative aspect is that the buds will fall out from time to time even if you are not moving that much, so you need to push them back into place once in a while. The Sound isn’t the best, but it is good compared to the price, and for the sound could be customized I am satisfied with these Buds. The playtime is five hours according to the Manufacturer, but I have squeezed a listening time for roundabout eight hours until I had to put them back to the case. The case could charge them four times.
As mentioned earlier they do not offer ANC, they only use ENC which is used for calls.

Final Thoughts
The AirBuds U offer a different case which I found nice, but it could get dusty or even dirty inside, as you could see in the picture there is a black piece inside the case.
I enjoyed listening Rock Music the same as Audiobooks with them and the usage time is a very good point, but the workmanship could be way better, especially for the buds.
For 20 Euro it is very usable and could come in handy if a long playtime is needed.
