The Huawei band 6 is a basic but well made smartband, and seem like a solid choice in a crowded market
External impression and build quality ⅘
The whole body, except the glass screen, is made out of plastic, but the sides have a nice finish that could make someone think it’s more premium that it is, while the lower part it’s made of a classic black ruvid plastic and host all the sensors
There’s is only one button on the right side that gives a nice clicky feedback
Overall it seem well built for thw price and has hot-swappable straps and there are a lot of different possibilities, from metal ones to rubber and sporty ones.
Screen quality 4.5/5
The screen is a very nice AMOLED with high brightness, vivid colors and nice detal level, and it’s pretty big compared to a mi band for example, that makes it more usable for people who can’t see very well or older people.
Sport monitoring ⅘
The sensors array is up to competition, with steps, heart, stress, sleep and sp02 monitoring, and they all give comparable results to similar devices, all while supporting lots of sports and water sports tanks to atm 5 waterproof certification
It doesn’t have gps but non of the competitors have it at this price
Software ⅘
The software interface is a little more complete that some competitors, while remaining relatively easy to use for everyone, and the quick menu on the upper side is something very useful that some bands lack, and the companion app is the well tested Huawei Health, very complete and full of customization for the band
I noticed some sporadic problems with syncronization of data, but most of the time it works well
Battery life ⅘
With all sensors activated it lasts a bit over a week, which is good and in line with other similar bands
Conclusion ⅘
This band for me is a solid choice around 40 €, having a very complete software, a big nice screen and a good styling to it’s credit
