Thoughts on WiFi 7?

Heyo

So Qualcomm just announced support for WiFi 7 on it’s next gen Snapdragon chips but I’m just now seeing routers and devices supporting WiFi 6e as the latest and greatest thing in WiFi. I’d never even heard of WiFi 7 until the announcement lol. Has anyone else? What’s the big deal about it? And what’s so great about having support for it if there literally won’t be anywhere I got that is serving WiFi 7 speeds lol?

Heyo wifi 7 should reach double the speed of wifi 6 per every channel, using mostly 6Ghz range, and a 4×4 connection should reach almost 10 Gbps

Still, as you said, just now I’m start8ng to see a significant of diffusion of wifi 6 devices, so it seem a bit of an early release, but also much needed for their VR chips

I have no idea but I imagine it will be an improvement in connection and speed compared to Wi-Fi 6e

di_lorenzo Thanks! That’s good to know about the range and connection but I thought 6e could already theoretically reach 10Gbps? Maybe not.

Heyo it depends on how many channels your device/router can use, as in a 4×4 connection wifi 6e reaches 5.4 Gbps theoretically( wifi 7 it’s almost 2 times faster), but with more channel could reach way more

I put the example of the 4×4 because a think most consumer devices like phones and laptops will use this kind of connection
