INTRODUCTION
I have been testing the LG Tone free FP5 for more than a week, I was truly amazed by these wireless earphones, many interesting features currently at a price below 50 euros on sale that makes them probably among the best candidates if you need a new pair of wireless eardphones.

DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Aesthetically they are rounded and without any particular frills that distinguish them from the crowd at least they haven’t followed the trend of many other products of relying too much on Apple’s line of well-known earphones, the case has a pleasant finish that makes it velvety to the touch, the shape of the case and the opening mechanism, however, make it extremely difficult to open them with one hand, the case weighs 48 grams with the headphones inserted, the single earphone instead has a weight of 6 grams, not the lightest on the market, but there is a lot of content and the autonomy is excellent.

FIT AND COMFORT
The comfort and fit are excellent, the inserts are in soft medical gel and the cap is well designed to rest inside the ear without creating particular compression zones that can hurt over time, of course each ear is different and the evaluation is based on my experience but being particularly sensitive to in-ear earphones I can say that they are very comfortable, LG claims to have studied their “concave” design by analyzing hundreds of ear cups. Those who use them for sports can rest assured that the headphones remain well worn and in place without moving during movement and have IPX4 certification.

SOUND QUALITY AND FUNCTION
On call they work very well thanks to the 3 microphones and the background noise cancellation function that make the voice particularly clear to the listener, on the listening side we could enjoy two extremely useful functions, active noise cancellation that can be set on two levels and the listening mode that allows on the contrary to amplify ambient noises or voices if we are conversing, while the active noise cancellation function works as intended but nothing that has not already heard in products of this level, the environmental sound amplification is really ly cool, they give back an ambient sound so clear that it gives the impression of not wearing earphones, which needless to say is essential both to not isolate yourself from the world while you are in company and for a matter of safety in case you wear them in traffic or while driving, naturally, both functions can only be used if both earphones are inserted, while if only one is inserted (regardless of whether it is the right or the left) the conversation remains well understandable for both even if I would have preferred a slightly higher maximum volume. Another add is the new function called “wisper mode” with which, once activated, if you are in a situation where you need to speak in a low voice, you can take the right earphone and bring it close to the mouth to use as a microphone only while the left earphone will only work for listening, not a killer feature but it works fine and can always come in handy.
On the music listening side they defend themselves quite well thanks to the joint work with Meridian the audio balance is good in all the preset modes and there are also two custom presets that you can customize, there is also a function for 3d audio, which certainly increases the spatiality of the sound but of which I am not a fan, excellent however that it is present when used with a mobile phone or connected to a TV to play games and increase immersion, also present a specific game mode that together with the Bluetooth 5.2 technology ensures an almost perfect audio synchronization free from notable delays. Also present the function that reads the messages received from various apps so as not to be distracted for example if you are driving, i find the voice a bit robotic but it seems to read and play text messages correctly, the function of uv sterilization case present in the FP9 model is missing.
Small parenthesis on the software, if you have less commercial smartphones the app may not correctly recognize the earphones as happened to me with the splendid ZTE Axon 40 ultra received thanks to #HEYUPTRYOUT (I leave the review link below), contacted customer service in less than 48 hours they fixed the problem with an update.

There are touch controls cleverly facilitated by a small protrusion that makes it easy to guess where to touch the earphones and makes touch controls less frustrating than usual, of course the touch controls can be customized by the app and deactivated when they are removed from the ears, in fact there is a proximity sensor that allows the eardphones to know when they are inserted in the ear or not and which of the two, so as to stop music playback, switch the call to one earphone to the other one (or one to both) or switch to audio on the smartphone in case they are removed during a phone call and viceversa. They connect automatically to the device paired as soon as the case is opened on which it is possible to be informed in real time of the charge of the individual earphones and of the case, the same are disconnected as soon as they are placed in the case and closed or if a headphone is removed from the ear and is left out of the case for a certain amount of time so as to preserve the battery, sadly the multipoint function is absent which will make it necessary to selectively activate bluetooth without the possibility of switching between multiple associated devices. Autonomy is also good despite always having either the noise canceling or ambient sound function active, it is difficult for me to unload both the headphones and the case in less than ⅔ days of intense use, LG declares 8 hours of earphone duration plus 14 additional hours guaranteed by the case, slightly optimistic values but in which, despite not having studied too much i got match.

A mention goes to the really strong magnet, it is impossible for the earphones not to go back into place once they are put back in the case or to move around in your pocket, they are practically glued in place.
CONCLUSIONS
For the paid price of 42 euros, I absolutely recommend these LG Tone free fp5, at that price even the defects present are forgivable and the product as a whole offers excellent functions and very good audio quality.
