The Korean media outlet Sedaily published a blog post on December 9) reporting that Samsung is actively advancing an extended reality (XR) project named “Infinite.” The project is scheduled to be publicly unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January this year, with an official release planned for the third quarter of 2025.

This AR glasses are similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, weighing about 50 grams. They look like regular eyeglasses or sunglasses and feature payment capabilities, gesture recognition, and facial recognition.

According to reports, Samsung Electronics plans to unveil this AR glasses as a sample at the Galaxy S25 launch event in the U.S. in January next year, with an official release scheduled for the third quarter of 2025

In 2024, with the maturation of the supply chain and the success of Meta’s smart glasses, more brands are entering the AR smart glasses competition. Which brand do you think will dominate the market in 2025? What feature is your top priority when considering AR glasses? And what price range do you find most acceptable?

Ivyisme wow one samsungs AR/VR will be amazing but I think that will be expensive like apple

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch its XR glasses in Q3 2025, which are expected to have features similar to Meta Ray-Ban but with advanced AI capabilities. If we consider the price range, Meta Ray-Ban is priced at around $299, so Samsung’s AR device could be similarly priced, with $300 being a likely estimate. However, the price could reach $600, which seems to be a psychological barrier. If the price exceeds $599, consumers will likely have higher expectations and demand more justification for the value. On the other hand, for smart glasses with AI and camera features, this year’s options are around $299; for next year’s Q3, the price is expected to be around $200. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what features Samsung will unveil in Q1 as the market evolves.

I don’t know much about augmented reality glasses, but I’m sure the immersive feeling will be wonderful. I hope they make our daily lives easier and offer us more things than a phone ✨
