The Oladance Wearable Stereo is a pretty cool product for multiple reasons. I’m glad and thankful that I got to receive them and try them out. I think I have used them about everyday since I’ve received them.
Packaging: To start off with, the packaging is pretty nice. I think it adds to the experience and it shows the quality of the product when there’s nice packaging. I will mention though that there are a few English errors which is a little ironic since this product and packaging are pretty quality otherwise.
Appearance/design: The color I received isn’t my first choice, but the case and the earbuds do look great. The design was done well. The open ear feature is something that I appreciate, but haven’t had in the past. I appreciate the fact that these earbuds were designed with good distribution of weight, comfort, and a mostly secure design. The case is a bit big though (especially with it not having a built-in battery).
Comfort/fit: It took me a little while to understand and get used to how these go on one’s ear, but it’s of course good they give you directions on how it’s supposed to go on. I would say though that these earbuds are fairly comfortable. Sometimes you can tell you’re wearing them and sometimes they’re pretty unnoticeable. I appreciate that they’ve tried to make them as comfortable as possible and with a good distribution of weight. The open ear feature definitely has its benefits even though it doesn’t cancel or isolate noise; it’s nice to have the ear canal free! As for staying secure on one’s ears, it does a pretty good job; just make sure they’re on properly. Under unusual circumstances or with a lot of movement they may come off (that may be due to various factors of course). You can use these well during activity for the most part. I’ve played soccer with these on. You may need or want to readjust them from time to time during or not during activity. Overall though, they’re pretty secure and fairly comfortable.
Build-Quality: The build quality is pretty good. The earbuds especially display quality with how they’re built. They feel nice. The case is pretty good as well, but I think it could be a little improved. The lid sometimes makes a little clicking sound and the lid can move side to side just a tiny bit.
Connecting: These connect really well to devices and to each other. If you have issues it may have to do with your other devices.
Sound Quality: The sound quality is great. It has good bass and it plays vocals and music well. Sometimes it isn’t perfect though and it has had a rattle sound that I assume corresponds with “loud playback volume”. Overall though, the sound quality is great.
Battery: I think it’s great it possesses a 16-hour battery, but it’s a shame you have to pay extra for a case with a built in battery. Most earbuds (including one’s I’ve had) have had a case with a built-in battery.
Controls: The controls are nice. I like how you can play/pause and change the volume on either earbud – unlike some other earbuds I’ve used.
Mics/Calling: I used these earbuds during a call and my friend said he could hear me pretty well, so that’s great. The call worked pretty well; there were a few times where the audio wasn’t completely synced across both earbuds (it’s pretty minor though). I think it’s cool how these have ENC (environmental noise cancelling).
Oladance App: You can download the Oladance App for more features. You can check the battery level, change the device name, customize the controls and more.
Price: These are great earbuds, but I think $179 is a bit pricy. For a brand that is relatively new and unknown I think it may be too much. For example, some of Apple’s AirPods are cheaper (I know Oladance has some advantages over them, but still). Also, a few tweaks should be made to make it even more justifiable. However, you do get a quality product for that price.
Summary: I would rate this at 4.5 stars. It’s a very cool and great product as I’ve described. I would recommend them. Just some little improvements would make them even better.
Recommendations for Oladance: I would recommend proof-reading the packaging/marketing/manual. There are a few English grammatical and spelling errors. An improved case would be nice. It’s good, but I think the build-quality could be slightly improved. I also think it should be a smaller case with a built-in battery. A little tweaked sound like I like mentioned early coupled with a cheaper price would make the Oladance Wearable Stereo earbuds even better.
Edit: I’ve received the optional charging case and I’m glad to have it. It definitely has a unique feel and design. It has a sandpaper feel to it and it’s rather large.
